To Create Campus Entrepreneurs, UPT PKK Holds Independent Entrepreneurial Socialization

In order to encourage and print students to run and develop entrepreneurship, the Technical Implementation Unit for Entrepreneurship Career Development (UPT PKK) UPN Veterans Jakarta (UPNVJ) held an outreach to the Faculty Deans regarding the implementation of independent entrepreneurship with Dr. Wachyu Hajj Day. Friday, 17/6/22 at the Unity in Diversity Auditorium UPNVJ.

Wirausaha Merdeka is part of the Merdeka Campus program of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology which provides opportunities for students to learn and develop themselves into prospective entrepreneurs through activities outside of class lectures.

“This program facilitates all students who are interested in the field of entrepreneurship. This is very good for students who have an entrepreneurial spirit and have strong entrepreneurship," said the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. dr. Ria Maria Theresa, SpKJ., MH.

Ria added that if a student is accepted as an Independent Entrepreneur participant, then the student runs the program and starts developing a business, the student will be guided by a mentor throughout the program. Later, there will be a final evaluation of the student's business development, before the student is declared graduated and gets credits.

In addition, the speaker Dr. Wachyu Hari Haji also gave an overview of the benefits, achievements to the participants of the socialization and strategies in implementing the independent entrepreneurship program.

The benefits and achievements of the program for both students and universities from which the students come from, include practical experience, provision of entrepreneurial mindset and competence, learning experience outside the lecture class to develop knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship and recognition of a maximum of 20 credits.

For tertiary institutions, among others, the fulfillment of the achievements of 2 Main Performance Indicators, Support from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology in the development of Entrepreneurship programs in Higher Education, Sources of study, innovation and creativity in student entrepreneurship development, Increasing student competence and work power, especially in developing student entrepreneurship, Getting an overview and experience Practical Entrepreneurship Program Development

In addition, getting achievements in KPI 1, graduates get a decent job and KPI 2, students get experience outside of campus.

Wahyu added that with this program, it is hoped that the campus can become a place to empower and provide opportunities for students to develop skills, abilities, network of friends and other things that support their self-development.
