Faculty of Medicine of UPN Veteran Jakarta and IDI Organize another International Webinar 2020 with Theme “Multidisciplinary Approach in Covid-19”

Public Relations of UPNVJ – Within the importance of the current efforts to deal with Covid-19, Faculty of Medicine of UPN Veteran Jakarta in collaboration with IDI is holding an International Webinar, which was held on Saturday, June 27th 2020, with a number of competent speakers in their fields. This webinar was attended not only by participants from related party but also open for public. The event has several speakers, there are:

This event was opened by Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa which as the speaker and also the moderator, continued with opening remarks from Rector of UPNVJ, Erna Hernawati. In this case the rector said, "This is a form of UPNVJ's contribution through the Faculty of Medicine collaborating with the experts to produce benefits and solutions regarding Covid-19 issues at this time".

"I urge lecturers from the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine, to take advantage of this time to make concrete contributions for the country through collaboration with colleague from other universities or from industry or ministries to produce the innovations that society needed regarding to Covid-19 issues " The Rector added that and followed by closing remarks.

Dr. Broto Wasisto. As chairman of the MEEK IDI Centre said "Research in Medicine shows that extensive damage occurs in the bodies of people infected with Covid-19. The pandemic also affects the socioeconomic spheres and it already perceived by all of us. Because it needs to take a multidisciplinary from social approach to handle it".

The International Webinar was followed by a presentation by the first speaker, Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa, who is also the moderator of this webinar. He mainly discussed about "The Incidence of Deep Vein Thrombosis-Dvt during The Covid-19 Pandemic: Diagnostics And Therapy”. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa said that there were some case reports, one of them was the incidence of DVT in Covid-19 which showed 66 patients out of 143 are suffering from DVT. In addition, he also explained the epidemiology of DVT, type of DVT, and also what should be known on DVT, for example he mentioned an information about 1/3 of Covid-19 patients are not diagnosed and not treated properly.

Closing his presentation, Prof. Frans gave a brief message "For me compressions therapy in acute DVT is an inseparable part".

The next one is Dr. Broto Wasisto, he mainly reviewing about "Aspects of the Medical Ethics Code on Countermeasure for Covid-19". In his presentation he explained several number of wrong-things about medical secrets, one of which includes a protection regulations according the patients personal information and it can be opened for countermeasure or contact tracing. Besides that. Dr. Broto Wasisto also conveyed other topics such as doctor's safety and PPDS, medical’s certificate, reduction in service activities, how to handling the corpse of Covid-19’s patients, and information about the new claim of Covid-19 medicine.

"Government must ensure the availability of sufficient resources to facing the pandemic and also be able to distribute properly even with the limited resources through the establishment of good policies," said Dr. Broto

Dr. dr. Anna Rozaliyani as chairman of the Dept. FKUI / RSCM Parasitology, and Secretary General of MKEK IDI Centre delivered some material related to the situation of the Covid-19 in Indonesia. Dr. dr. Anna Rozaliyani also explained some issues regarding Covid-19 such as criteria for inpatient, diagnostic problems, patient management, hospital infections control, re-use of personal protective equipment (PPE), some problems of patient coordination , and referral list of hospital that accepting Covid-19 patients. Furthermore, Dr. dr. Anna Rozaliyani was footnoting the role of the scientific community which includes collaborative research and ethical issues that exist. In its closing, Dr. dr. Anna Rozaliyani conveyed the role of government and society in Covid-19 today.

Followed by Dr. med. Dr. Sc. Dr. Yanto Sandy Tjang, SpBTKV (K), he presenting about "The Role of Thoraric & Cardiovascular Surgeons in Covid-19 pandemic". He delivered 4 topics at a glance such as what is Covid-19, explaining bed capacity at the hospital during Covid-19, how thoracic and cardiovascular surgery during Covid-19. In closing his presentation, Dr. med. Dr. Sc. Dr. Yanto Sandy Tjang, SpBTKV (K) gave a glimpse of the use of ECMO on Covid-19. "There are 4 things in ECMO services, as a note if this machine is available in Indonesia. As he mentioned, there all about the personnel must be formed then the function, PTE, equipment, hospital’s facilities and also the communication and coordination system".

The next one is dr. Bahtiar Husain, who serves as Lung doctor at Firdaus Lung Hospital. dr. Bahtiar Husain explained about "The Role of Pulmonologist’s on Covid-19". He explained the history of Covid-19 pandemic that occurred at this time. Besides that, Dr. Bahtiar Husain also conveyed several things such as related epidemiologist, namely our concern against Covid-19 and prediction of transmission and the end of the outbreak. He also delivered clinical matters such as diagnosis, case fatality and post-Covid-19 complications.

More enlightenment came from Dr. drg. Wahyu Sulistiadi, He serves as the Dean of the UPNVJ Faculty of Health. He raised the theme "The Role of Public Health in Covid-19" to convey a number of things such as the Covid-19 pandemic, Indonesian Conditions, and the Role of Public Health. He also conveyed the conditions related to New Normal or new habits in the current Covid-19 situation. "New normal means new habits that we have had more than before. More in everything to be able to live in a new normal, which more than the usually”.

The last presentation came from Prof. Dr. dr. Agus Purwandianto, as an observer lecturer in Health Humanities. Prof. Dr. dr. Agus Purwandianto delivered a presentation with the theme "The Role of Health Humanities in Covid-19". Prof. Dr. dr. Agus Purwandianto explained the importance of understanding health education for health workers, especially doctors as the main actors. Besides that Prof. Dr. dr. Agus Purwandianto also conveyed the concern of medical personnel, some human values ​​in handling Covid-19, also medical phenomenology as the basis for the Health Humanities approach. The cases related to the Covid-19 patients funeral, which were rejected in several places were also presented, as well as Prof. Dr. dr. Agus Purwandianto also conveyed that this kind of issues are related to health Humanities as the fourth pillar of relevant medical science.

The International Webinar was closed by Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa by giving questions to Prof. Dr. dr. Agus Purwandianto. He appreciated the participants who took part in the 2nd International Webinar.
