UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine Develops Website-Based Immunization System for Pondok Labu Community Health Center

Public Relations | UPNVJ – Students from the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) at the Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ) Jakarta (UPNVJ) have developed a web-based automated immunization certificate system to improve administrative service efficiency at the Pondok Labu Community Health Center (Puskesmas) in South Jakarta. The project ran for three weeks, from July 4 to 26, 2025, as part of the Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) program.

This system was designed to address administrative challenges at the Pondok Labu Community Health Center, particularly in recording, issuing, and recording immunization certificates. With a website-based system, previously manual processes can now be automated, saving time and reducing the potential for errors.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine (FIK) at UPNVJ, Prof. Supriyanto, explained that the development of this system was the result of discussions with the Pondok Labu Village and the Community Health Center (Puskesmas) to identify community needs. "Students designed this system based on direct input from the Puskesmas. They also conducted outreach and demonstrations to ensure the system was easy to use by administrative staff," Supriyanto said at the UPNVJ Rectorate Building on Wednesday (August 6, 2025).

During the implementation, students installed the system on computers in the community health center administration room for immediate use. The activity concluded with an evaluation meeting with the Pondok Labu Village Head, who expressed his appreciation for the students' contributions. "The Village Head provided input for future system development, ensuring its continued benefits," Supriyanto added.

This system is expected to not only streamline services at the Pondok Labu Community Health Center but also serve as a model for other community health centers. This initiative reflects UPNVJ's commitment to integrating education with real-world solutions that impact the community.
