UPNVJ Holds Flag Ceremony, Strengthens Commitment to National Defense and Internationalization

UPNVJ Public Relations - As part of its routine and consistent commitment, the Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a flag ceremony on September 17, 2025, at the UPNVJ Ceremony Field in Pondok Labu, Jakarta. This ceremony was not merely a routine but a manifestation of UPNVJ's commitment as a national defense university, strengthening its commitment to nationalism and the responsibility of its academic community.

UPNVJ's Vice Rector for Planning, General Affairs, and Finance, Prof. Dr. Ir. Netti Herawati, M.Sc., served as the ceremony instructor. In her remarks, she emphasized that the ceremony served as a momentum to strengthen the morale and national spirit of the academic community and educational staff.

Prof. Netti outlined several achievements of UPNVJ, including superior accreditation for four study programs in the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and one study program in the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIK) from LAMEMBA and LAMINFOKOM. "These achievements confirm the academic quality and the success of the institution's internationalization, which aligns with UPNVJ's 10 internationalization programs," she said.

In November 2025, the Faculty of Engineering of UPNVJ will be assessed by the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE) Assessors, a member of the Washington Accord since 2014. This assessment evaluates the implementation of the Outcome Based Education (OBE) curriculum to produce competent engineering graduates according to international standards.

UPNVJ also recorded a surge in new student applicants of 94,083 people in 2025, approaching 100,000. "This demonstrates the high level of public trust in the quality of UPNVJ's education," said Prof. Netti. In the National Achievement-Based Selection (SNBP), UPNVJ ranked among the top 10 most rigorous study programs in Indonesia, while in the National Test-Based Selection (SNBT), UPNVJ ranked 15th nationally based on the number of applicants.

The year 2025 marked a historic milestone with the acceptance of 17 international students from 1,015 applicants from 55 countries, including India, Pakistan, Timor Leste, Sudan, and Yemen. They included six full scholarship recipients, seven partial scholarship recipients, and an exchange student from Ablai Khan University, Kazakhstan. "The presence of international students enriches the academic atmosphere and supports cultural exchange and the promotion of Indonesian values," added Prof. Netti.

UPNVJ is also strengthening international collaborations with renowned universities, such as the University of Nebraska Medical Center (USA), Walailak University (Thailand), and Jiangxi University of Water Resources and Electrical Power (China). This collaboration is expected to positively impact global education and sustainable development.

"This success is thanks to the hard work of the entire academic community. Let's continue to embody the spirit of national defense and collaboration to transform UPNVJ toward excellence," concluded Prof. Netti.
