UPNVJ Public Relations – The National Veteran Development University (UPNVJ) Jakarta held its regular flag-raising ceremony on campus on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. The ceremony, a tradition held every February 17th, serves as a demonstration of strengthening the character of national defense and the national commitment of the entire academic community.
On the occasion, the Rector's remarks were delivered by the Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs, Prof. Netti Herawati. In her address, she emphasized that the flag-raising ceremony is not merely a ceremonial activity, but rather a moment of reflection to affirm UPNVJ's identity as a national defense campus.
"Through this ceremony, we reflect on the values of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, while also strengthening our determination to make a real contribution to the nation's progress," said Prof. Netti in her remarks.
Entering the beginning of 2026, UPNVJ recorded various impressive achievements in academics, institutions, research, and student affairs. By 2025, UPNVJ had 44 study programs, with 72.7% of them accredited as Excellent and Very Good.
The current international accreditation achievement has reached 36.4% and continues to be pushed to increase, including through the IABEE accreditation process for a number of study programs in the Faculty of Engineering and international accreditation for study programs in the Faculty of Medicine.
In addition, the operational permit for the Pharmacist Professional Study Program has been issued, and the Faculty of Medicine is currently establishing a strategic collaboration in supporting the establishment of the Primary Care Family Medicine Specialist Study Program (Sp.KKLP), in response to the need for national health workers.
In terms of strengthening facilities and infrastructure, 10 laboratories across various faculties will be constructed and renovated throughout 2026. In the 2026–2027 period, the construction of an Integrated Engineering Laboratory and an Integrated Health Laboratory at the Limo Campus is also planned. The development of Campus 3 Pasar Kemis, Tangerang, has also begun with the construction of basic facilities and fencing. The university is also preparing new parking facilities with a capacity of approximately 500 vehicles at the Limo Campus and 2,500 vehicles at the Pondok Labu Campus, which are targeted to be fully operational by April.
In the area of internationalization, UPNVJ recorded 117 international students participating in study and exchange programs on campus. Furthermore, UPA LUK is preparing to launch international certification services in ten areas of expertise, accredited by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN), to enhance graduates' global competitiveness.
Research and publication performance also shows a positive trend. UPNVJ currently ranks 83rd nationally out of 5,515 universities in the SINTA rankings. Although internal grants have decreased due to efficiency policies, external grants have increased by 35%, and book publications have surged by 80%. Of the 34 journals managed, 16 have been SINTA accredited.
Various innovations and intellectual property achievements have strengthened the university's contribution, including innovations in turmeric grinding machines, patents for ergonomic disability trolleys, ergonomic batik dyeing tools, visual welding defect detection systems, and simple patents for crab shell noodles.
Throughout 2025, UPNVJ students also achieved success in 16 provincial-level competitions, 214 national-level competitions, and 76 international competitions. UPNVJ again earned the "Excellent" award in the 2025 Student Ranking Management Information System Assessment (SIMKATMAWA).
Concluding the Chancellor's message, Prof. Netti urged the entire academic community to continue strengthening togetherness and the spirit of collaboration.
"Let us prioritize the interests of the institution over personal interests, work diligently, uphold the university's good name, and demonstrate a positive reputation in the public sphere in every situation," he concluded.
The ceremony took place solemnly and was attended by university leaders, lecturers, educational staff, and students, as a form of shared commitment to transforming UPNVJ towards sustainable excellence.
