UPNVJ Public Relations — Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) confirmed that the 2026 Independent Selection for State Universities in the Western Region, or SMMPTN-West, ran smoothly on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus. The smooth running of the computer-based exam was supported by the readiness of information technology infrastructure, network security, and technical coordination with the central committee. A total of 120 computers were prepared to serve exam participants in several rooms that had undergone a pre-screening process.
The Head of the UPNVJ Information and Communication Technology UPA, Asep Saeful Ridwan, S.Kom., stated that equipment readiness is a primary concern to ensure the exam process runs smoothly, safely, and fairly for all participants. According to the UPNVJ official website, Asep Saeful Ridwan, S.Kom., is listed as the Head of the UPNVJ Information and Communication Technology UPA.
"For this exam, we've prepared 120 PCs spread across several locations: 50 in Integrated Laboratory A, 50 in Integrated Laboratory B, and 20 in the multimedia room. We've checked all the rooms and equipment and they're ready to use," Asep said.
According to him, UPNVJ is not only preparing the main equipment but also taking anticipatory measures to address potential technical issues that could disrupt the exam. One such effort is coordinating with PLN (State Electricity Company) to maintain electricity supply during the exam.
"Regarding electricity issues, we have coordinated with PLN to prioritize and maintain electricity supply during the exam to prevent power outages," he said.
In addition to electricity, system readiness and connectivity with the central committee are also crucial for securing the exam. Asep explained that the UPNVJ ICT Unit has established a direct communication channel with the central committee so that any potential disruptions can be promptly addressed.
"For potential server disruptions, we have a direct line of communication with the central committee so that handling can be done quickly," he said.
He added that the 2026 SMMPTN-West exam system is equipped with an auto-save feature. This feature ensures that participants' answers are retained in the event of technical difficulties during the exam.
"The exam system automatically saves participants' answers. If technical difficulties occur, the exam will be temporarily suspended and time will be added based on the duration of the disruption, ensuring that no participants are disadvantaged," Asep said.
The 2026 SMMPTN-West is an independent selection process involving state universities in western Indonesia. According to official UPNVJ news, the selection involves 27 state universities with over 1,013 study programs and a student quota of approximately 20,035. UPNVJ also positions the SMMPTN-West as part of its commitment to expanding access to quality, orderly, transparent higher education, and promoting equal opportunities for prospective students.
