Four Prospective UPNVJ Rector Candidates for 2026–2030 Pass the Administrative Selection

UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) has completed the administrative file review for prospective rector candidates for the 2026–2030 term. Based on the administrative selection results, four of the six applicants were declared to have met the complete administrative requirements and are eligible to proceed to the next stage of the UPNVJ Rector Selection process.

The four prospective candidates who fulfill the administrative requirements are Prof. Dr. Memen Kustiawan, SE, M.Sc., MH, Ak., CA., CPA. from the Indonesian Education University; Prof. Dr. Drs. Abdul Halim, SH, M.Ag. from Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta; Prof. Dr. Drs. Anter Venus, MA, Comm. from the Veteran National Development University Jakarta; and Dr. Sakroni, S.ST., M.Pd. from the Bandung Social Welfare Polytechnic.

The examination of 20 types of documents required for the registration process was conducted. These documents included the registration form, curriculum vitae, statement of willingness, integrity pact, recommendation letter, doctoral diploma, academic and managerial position decisions, physical and mental health certificate, drug-free certificate, State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN), and employee performance target assessment for the past two years. Thus, four prospective candidates who met all the required documents will proceed to the next stage of the selection process.

The open selection for the UPNVJ Rector Election for the 2026–2030 Period was previously opened on May 22, 2026. Until registration closed on June 10, 2026 at 23.59 WIB, the UPNVJ Rector Election Committee received six applicants from a number of universities in Indonesia.

The selection process is carried out with reference to the Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Number 19 of 2017 concerning the Appointment and Dismissal of State University Leaders and the Regulation of the UPNVJ Senate Number 2 of 2026. These provisions are the basis for the committee and the UPNVJ Senate in carrying out each stage of the selection, screening, and election of the rector in an orderly and accountable manner.

After being declared to have fulfilled the administrative requirements, the agenda for the presentation of the vision, mission, and work programs of the prospective candidates (balon) which was originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, 2026, was changed to Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 08.00 WIB until finished, taking place at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium UPNVJ. This stage is a space for the academic community and the UPNVJ Senate to gain an overview of the leadership direction, university development strategies, and programs offered by each prospective candidate for the 2026–2030 period.

UPNVJ is committed to ensuring the rector selection process is transparent, objective, democratic, and in accordance with statutory provisions. This process is expected to produce a leader capable of continuing institutional transformation, strengthening academic quality and governance, and enhancing UPNVJ's contribution as a university with a national defense character.*
