UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) once again strengthened its contribution in preparing human resources in the health sector through the 77th Graduation Ceremony of Diploma, Bachelor's, Professional, and Master's Programs which took place at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday (12/9/2026). Of the total 1,943 graduates who attended the graduation, a number of graduates came from the medical and health clusters, ranging from the Professional Education Program for Doctors, Master of Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Nursing, Nutrition, to Physiotherapy.
The presence of graduates from various health disciplines demonstrates UPNVJ's role in developing multidisciplinary human resources in health care. UPNVJ not only prepares personnel who directly deal with patient care, but also develops graduates with competencies in biomedical research, pharmacy, nursing, nutrition, rehabilitation, and health science development.
At the Faculty of Medicine (FK), graduates attending the 77th Graduation Ceremony include those from the Medical Professional Education Program, the Bachelor of Pharmacy Program, and the Master of Biomedical Science program. UPNVJ's Medical Professional Education Program currently holds Excellent accreditation, while the Bachelor of Pharmacy Program holds Excellent accreditation. The Master of Biomedical Science program is part of the development of research-based education aimed at strengthening basic medical science and health innovation.
Before joining the graduation ceremony, the Faculty of Medicine of UPNVJ also inaugurated and sworn in 76 new doctors in the 85th Inauguration and Oath-taking Ceremony of Doctors on June 10, 2026. The ceremony emphasized that medical professional education requires not only academic and clinical competence, but also ethical responsibility, integrity, empathy, and commitment to patient safety.
Meanwhile, the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) also contributes graduates from several fields that play a vital role in the healthcare system, including Nursing, Nutrition, and Physiotherapy. These three fields hold strategic positions in promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services, all contributing to improving the community's quality of life.
The diversity of graduate competencies is crucial because healthcare challenges cannot be addressed by a single profession. Disease management, nutritional improvement, functional recovery, patient care, and the development of healthcare innovations require interdisciplinary collaboration. Therefore, UPNVJ graduates are expected to be able to work professionally while fostering collaboration within the healthcare ecosystem.
UPNVJ also continues to strengthen the quality of education in the health sector. According to university accreditation data, several study programs at FIKES have achieved the Excellent rating, including Nutrition and Physiotherapy, while the Undergraduate Nursing Program has achieved Very Good status. This quality improvement is aimed at ensuring graduate competencies remain relevant to developments in science, health technology, and community needs.
In the medical field, educational development goes beyond academics. The Faculty of Medicine, University of Nusa Tenggara Barat (UPNVJ), promotes a human-centered medical education ecosystem approach that connects students, faculty, teaching hospitals, research, technology, networks, and the community. This approach prioritizes impact on public health as one measure of educational success.
UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., in his direction of educational development, also emphasized that university excellence cannot be measured solely by academic achievement. Graduates, research, and innovation must be able to provide real solutions to societal problems, including in the health sector.
Specifically addressing the new doctors, Prof. Anter Venus previously reminded them that professional degrees go hand in hand with integrity and dedication. "Be dedicated doctors, upholding integrity, and always upholding the good name of UPNVJ," he advised.
Through its 77th Graduation Ceremony, UPNVJ hopes that medical and health graduates will not only carry academic and professional degrees but also apply their knowledge to provide tangible benefits. With competence, integrity, collaborative skills, and a strong sense of national defense, they are expected to play a role in strengthening Indonesian public health services and resilience.
