HumasUPNVJ - UPN Veteran Jakarta again held an even semester graduation for the 2019/2020 academic year with 794 undergraduate graduates from various study programs which were held at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, on Sunday (08/03/20).
Anter Venus, Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UPN Veteran Jakarta, in his report also explained that the 794 graduates consisted of 7 faculties at UPN Veteran Jakarta, both from diploma, undergraduate, professional and master programs.
" Today, in this magnificent building, 794 graduates will be sworn in. They consisted of 31 Diploma Three graduates, 601 Bachelor graduates, 130 Doctor Profession graduates, and 32 Masters graduates. Up to the 64th Graduation Ceremony, UPN Veteran Jakarta has produced 52,674 graduates spread across various government and private companies/agencies both at home and abroad," he explained.
Carrying the theme "Excellent Graduates with State Defending Identity for Advanced Indonesia", veteran UPN Chancellor Jakarta Erna Hernawati gave a mandate so that graduates can be independent, have a positive attitude and defend the country in their new profession later and don't forget to take care of their alma mater by being honest.
" I am proud and I entrust you to always teach state defense in every profession that each graduate has. The title that will be carried later is a reflection of the wisdom and knowledge that you have born from the results of your struggles. Take care of the name of our alma mater with a good attitude because it can help us to be accepted in various types of environments with different types and types of people. The main positive attitude is a positive attitude to always be honest, honesty is the main key in individual and social life, "explained the chancellor in his speech.
Anter Venus also added that graduates can implement the identity of defending the country in the learning process and start instilling the 10 main values and skills which were the results of a 2016 World Economic Forum study in facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. These ten skills are believed to greatly affect the competitiveness of students and graduates in studying and working. These ten abilities include (1) Complex Problem Solving or the ability to solve problems comprehensively and strategically, (2) Critical thinking, (3) Creativity, (4) Managing people (people management), (5) the ability to build relationships, collaboration and networking with other people (6) self-control ability or Emotional Intelligence (7) accuracy in decision making, (8) Service orientation, (9) Negotiation ability, and (10) Cognitive Flexibility or the flexibility of our brain to accept new knowledge that is produced every second in hundreds of billions of bits of information.
Not only that, Dr. Ir. Paristiyanti Nurwadani, MP Secretary of the Directorate General of Higher Education who is the guest of honor for the 64th graduation representing the minister of Culture and Higher Education, also feels proud of the UPN Veteran Jakarta graduates who have the identity of defending the country. He hopes that graduates of UPN Veteran Jakarta will continue to excel, be innovative and honest in acting in line with the vision of UPN Veteran Jakarta, namely Towards Legal, Innovative and Competitive Colleges with National Defense Identity in 2025.
