Being the First in PTNs throughout Java Island, the UPNVJ Undergraduate Physiotherapy Program Prepares Intellectual and Independent Students

The Jakarta Veterans National Development University (UPNVJ) has officially opened a New Physiotherapy Undergraduate Study Program.

"It's official and has been recognized by the state, so we can do the opening at this time," said Dr. drg. Wahyu Sulistiadi, MARS Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) in an interview via an online application with the UPNVJ public relations team, on Tuesday (26/10/21).

Wahyu said that undergraduate physiotherapy education is an academic education program to prepare students who are intellectuals, cultured scientists, and create jobs.

In the process, Wahyu shared that the preparations had taken quite a long time and were not easy.

"It took quite a long time to prepare and carry out a lengthy analysis of needs and learning with areas of expertise," he said.

"The obstacle lies in the decision letter which is quite long so there are indeed many delays, but that doesn't prevent us from continuing. We are still allowed to open classes, so we immediately made a promotion and it turned out that the registrants were very enthusiastic," he said.

According to him, the physiotherapy profession is an independent profession for graduates.

In addition, it should be noted that UPNVJ's undergraduate physiotherapy program is the first of a state university on the island of Java to provide quite complete facilities.

"Our hope is to be the first to be proud of and superior in terms of the quality of learning. Graduates can be independent by opening practices and even opening new jobs so that this study program is very attractive for increasing the independence of graduates.

In the mechanism for admitting new students, this year the physiotherapy undergraduate program is carried out based on independent selection with registration open online which closed on 24 October.

At the registration, the physiotherapy undergraduate program is open to 50 people who will later be divided into 2 classes.

"I see that the applicants' grades are also very good, so indeed we are still screening the best and the best prospective students and we ask for the support of many parties so that this physiotherapy position can be superior in the future," Wahyu hoped closing the interview session with the PR team.
