HumasUPNVJ - Early State Defense Education (Dikwal) organized by the Indonesian Veterans National Development University has been held for six days starting from Sunday 21 November 2021 to Friday 26 November 2021.
The Dikwal activity was closed by the Chancellor of UPN Veterans Jakarta, Dr. Erna Hernawati and ended with the announcement of the best participant to the appearance of cheers from 160 participants.
"The main target of this DIKWAL activity is indeed not only to provide an understanding of the concept of defending the country, but also to encourage the establishment of an attitude of loyalty to institutions, loyalty to leaders, awakening a disciplined attitude towards existing rules, building a spirit of corps and a spirit of togetherness, support, learn not to talk too much not in the place and time, respect each other. We learn to respect the symbols of the country, respect all the gifts of God no matter how small. I believe these things will encourage the concrete values of defending the country," said Erna
In an educational atmosphere within the military environment, there are many good things that can become provisions for the UPN community to implement the values of defending the country concretely, not just saying greetings for defending the country on various occasions. From activities that seem simple, they actually contain meaning, a noble philosophy for people who have sensitivity and taste. For example, in marching activities, the marching rules contain a philosophy of togetherness and cohesiveness which is the basis of discipline, and is always focused. Togetherness, discipline, focus are the basic capital in running the UPNV organization, the emergence of awareness to work together to build a more advanced UPN Veteran, and to realize the vision faster. In marching lines, as members we learn to respect and obey who our leaders are, who are our commanders. Conversely, if we are in a leadership position, we must also understand the capabilities of those we lead. We must be able to optimize the capabilities of the people we lead, “he continued
"My hope is that this brief state defense education and training will not be the end of building our commitment to the values of defending the country, but make this the beginning of determination, enthusiasm for us to become state defense cadres wherever we are, in our duties as lecturers and students. .
