HumasUPNVJ - Commemoration of birthdays, Dies Natalis is considered as an important event that marks the beginning of life's journey, generally Dies Natalis is interpreted with gratitude and happiness, especially for a university. The Anniversary is used as a means to convey the various achievements that have been made by the Chancellor and his staff as well as accountability to the community. This anniversary is also usually used to encourage the growth of achievements for the academic community both for students, lecturers and also education staff through the holding of various competitions in the academic and non-academic fields as well as as a gathering place between members of the community, partners and all other stakeholders . Therefore, setting the anniversary date is of course important, especially for UPN Veterans Jakarta.

UPNVJ has several historic dates, this relates to UPNVJ's journey from the beginning to today. Bearing in mind that this Anniversary activity needs to be a means as well as various other considerations to involve all members of the community, it is necessary to set the anniversary date by referring to UPNVJ's long journey.

After Indonesia's independence, the Indonesian independence fighters switched roles from physical revolution to development to fill independence, on December 15, 1958 in Yogyakarta, through the agreement of several freedom fighters, established an academy called the so-called "Veteran" National Development Academy by opening majors such as, Corporate Governance, Agriculture, Chemical Engineering, and Mining Geology.

On February 21, 1967, the forerunner of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, when the three academies that were previously established on January 7, 1963, were merged into one under the name PTPN "Veteran" Jakarta Branch.

On November 30, 1977, PTPN "Veteran" Jakarta Branch changed its name to the National Development University (UPN) "Veteran" Jakarta Branch.

On February 27, 1993, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Branch became a fully independent university, apart from its parent, Yogyakarta "Veteran" National Development University.

On November 29, 1994, there was a change in status from a Service Higher Education to a Private Higher Education, by organizing five Faculties, in addition to three academies which entered phasing-out.

In 2000, all study programs under the UPN "Veteran" Jakarta faculty succeeded in obtaining BAN-PT accreditation.

On October 6, 2014, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta was designated as a State University.

"From UPNVJ's long journey which has several historical dates and at first we set the Anniversary on January 7, 1963, after we considered it, the Anniversary activities on that date were less than optimal, because at that time the students were also on semester breaks. So based on this and the decision of the UPNVJ Senate, we agreed and set the date for the UPNVJ Anniversary to be the date when UPNVJ had the first status as a university, namely November 30, 1977, "said the Chancellor of UPNVJ

"Our hope is that by setting the anniversary date on November 30, 1977, all members of the community, including students, lecturers and education staff as well as all stakeholders , can maximize this anniversary activity so that the meaning of the anniversary can be felt by all parties and this will encourage progress for UPNVJ”, he hoped.
