UPNVJ Holds 44th Anniversary, Chancellor Conveys Improvements in Various Fields

HumasUPNVJ - This year is a transitional year in commemorating the anniversary of UPN Veterans Jakarta (UPNVJ). Specifically this year UPNVJ commemorates 2 (two) anniversaries or Dies Natalis, namely last January 7 2021, and today November 30 2021.

"UPN Veteran Jakarta was officially used for the first time through the Minister of Defense Decree No. Skep/1555/1977 which changed the name of the Jakarta branch of the National Development College (PTPN) "Veteran" to UPN Veteran Jakarta as we use it today," said UPNVJ Chancellor Dr. Erna Hernawati., Ak., CPMA., CGOP., in her speech at the Senate Open Session at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium, on Tuesday (30/11/21).

Apart from the rector, in this event the Deputy Chancellor for General Affairs and Finance Dr. Prasetyo Hadi., MM., CFMP conducted a scientific oration which began with reading a joint prayer addressed to colleagues and students who had died fighting Covid-19 and died due to other reasons. Prayers are also devoted to one of the UPNVJ students who died in his struggle at the Student Regiment (MENWA) raid.

Technically activities are carried out online and offline to limit the number of attendees in one room to maintain maximum health protocols.

UPNVJ's 44th Anniversary this time with the theme "Better, Faster, be a WINNER". This theme is carried out by considering the external challenges facing universities today. Universities today must become dynamic, responsive, adaptive, accelerating organizations and become a reference for innovation in line with the development of science and technology.

On this special occasion the Chancellor of UPNVJ conveyed several important things about changing the university's status, improvement and performance follow-up that must be carried out in the future.

"Regarding institutions, I can say that as of May 29, 2021 the management status of UPNVJ has changed from a work unit scope institution (Satker) to a Public Service Agency (BLU) financial management scope which prioritizes maximum service to stakeholders in accordance with Minimum Service Standards (SPM) )” explained the Chancellor.

The Chancellor also announced the addition and proposal for new study programs that UPNVJ has prepared for the plan in the near future including Masters in Accounting, Doctors in Law, Information Sciences, Communications, Politics, Hub. International, S1 Cyber Security and S1 Multimedia Engineering

"UPNVJ has applied for the opening of a new FIKES S1-Physiotherapy study program, and thank God, approval has been obtained through Kepmendikbud Number 409/E/O/2021 dated 22 September 2021 concerning permission to open a Bachelor of Physiotherapy study program," said the Chancellor.

In the field of education, the Chancellor revealed that in 2021 UPNVJ had implemented and maximized the Independent Campus Learning (MBKM) program which was initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture. It was noted that UPNVJ also had many increases in the number of students, the number of MBKM participants, independent MBKM activities and learning videos produced by the UPNVJ lecturers themselves.

As an effort to implement a humanitarian project, UPNVJ is also trying to assist the government in handling Covid-19 by holding a central vaccine in collaboration with various parties, including Podal Metro Jaya, the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Cilandak Health Center.

With regard to the development of human resources (HR) , UPN Veteran Jakarta continues to strive to develop existing lecturers and educational staff so that they can be in line with the target of becoming a superior university with international quality. The increase in human resources this year was in the aspect of the number of professors, the number of doctoral lecturers, lecturers with advanced doctoral studies, 9 lecturers who participated in international research grants, 129 lecturers who participated in non-research grants, lecturers who participated in MBKM and certification of educational staff experienced enhancement.

Not only that, UPNVJ's improvement also comes from infrastructure with the construction of the Faculty of Medicine Building, the addition of the Hybrid class, the addition of two laboratories, and the addition of land area.

The Chancellor hopes that improvements will continue to be made with not only the responsibility of several fields, but the improvement of UPNVJ is the responsibility of all UPNVJ academics.
