Learning about Indonesian Culture, PMM 4 UPNVJ Holds Nusantara Module Class at TMII

Public Relations UPNVJ – Students who are members of the Independent Student Exchange (PMM) Batch 4 UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) group are invited to get to know the diversity of the archipelago through a special course called the Nusantara Module (MN).

PMM students undergo a series of activities that have been designed by MN lecturers. This activity is focused on creating a comprehensive understanding of diversity, inspiration, reflection and social contribution designed through sequential and repeated mentoring.

Last Sunday, Saturday 24 February 2024 to be precise, was the first MN class held. A total of 48 students divided into two groups (Dwipantara and Ratna Bhumi) accompanied by MN lecturers and student liaison officers (LO) visited Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) which is located in East Jakarta.

The two MN lecturers, namely Andy Sirada, SST, M.Fis and I Wayan Rangga P, M.Kom assigned PMM Batch 4 students to make visits to at least two regional platforms other than the student's home area and DKI Jakarta, then visits to the batik museum and museum. soldiering,

There, students are assigned to make a short self-introduction video, along with an introduction to the area they are visiting. Not only that, for a more challenging level, students are asked to create masterpieces that depict the special features of the region in the form of videos of regional dances, poetry in regional languages, regional folklore, singing regional songs, drawing traditional houses, etc.

Based on a report from the Chief of PMM Force 4 UPNVJ, Hesti Alifia, upon arrival at TMII each group immediately split up to complete missions/tasks to several designated bridge and museum destinations.

This student from Cendrawasih University said that the estimated time for completing assignments and missions for each group was 5 hours. This time is considered more than enough to be able to explore various types of platforms and museums.

"The estimated work for each group's tasks and missions is 5 hours, which means we spent a lot of time exploring the platforms of various provinces in Indonesia and also had the opportunity to explore various types of museums." Hesti said on behalf of her friends in a short report given to UPNVJ Public Relations.

From this edu trip , PMM Batch 4 students had the opportunity to witness the history of the Republic of Indonesia and biographies of heroes who contributed to the process of Indonesian independence through a visit to the Soldiers' Museum.

On the other hand, at the Indonesian Batik Museum, students learn about the history of Indonesian batik, including the types of batik and how to make them.

TMII was chosen as the main destination based on the assumption that exchange students need to know the various cultures in Indonesia. Moreover, PMM students come from various cultural and racial backgrounds, so it is important for them to gain new insight into other cultures in Indonesia with a fairly complete and detailed presentation.
