UPNVJ Chancellor Receives Visit from Université de Poitiers Delegation from France

HumasUPNVJ - In order to strengthen its international network, the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) received a visit from a delegation from the Université de Poitiers, France.

The delegation was received directly by the Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, accompanied by the Head of the International Affairs Office (KUI) and the Chancellor's Special Staff for Internationalization of UPNVJ, at the Pondok Labu Campus of UPNVJ on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

The representatives of Université de Poitiers who attended this occasion were Ms. Marlene Belly, International Relations Contact for Indonesia; Mr. Philippe Rogeon, Head of International Office at Faculty of Economics and Ms. Licia Bagini, Vice Dean International Relations.

The meeting covered several important agendas, including the extension of the Erasmus+ agreement for the period 2025-2028. The decision regarding the approval of this extension will be announced in July 2025, while the implementation of the new student mobility program will begin in September 2026.

In addition, the implementation of Staff Week which will be held on April 14-18, 2025, which will focus on internationalization training and capacity development of international cooperation staff was also discussed.

"Staff Week activities will also involve several educational institutions in Indonesia, such as UNY, UGM, UNTAN, UIN Gunung Jati Cirebon, and UNHAS, as well as universities in the Eastern European region," said Marlene.

The meeting also discussed the recruitment of Adjunct Professors, which requires the preparation of a separate MoU considering that Erasmus+ funding does not cover this activity.

The requirements for Adjunct Professor are: Minimum academic position of Associate Professor or Full Professor, Minimum work period of one year (January - December) and the recruited Adjunct Professor is also expected to contribute to joint publications or co-affiliation publications with UPNVJ.

"For its implementation, it is hoped that UPNVJ can send an invitation letter to the relevant lecturers," added Marlene.

The meeting also discussed plans to establish a French Corner or French Center at UPNVJ as a center for learning French language and culture.

To support this effort, Marlene has submitted the plan to the French Embassy in Jakarta.

On this occasion, during this visit, Mr. Philippe Rogeon, Head of the International Office at the Faculty of Economics, Université de Poitiers, took the opportunity to teach Linear Algebra to students of the Faculty of Computer Science.
