Strengthening ASEAN Network, UPNVJ Partners with Walailak University Thailand

 

HumasUPNVJ - The Faculty of Law of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (FH UPNVJ) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the School of Law Walailak University, Thailand, in a ceremony held at the UPNVJ Jakarta Campus, on May 26, 2025.

Dean of FH UPNVJ Dr. Suherman said that this activity is a follow-up to the internationalization initiative of higher education carried out by FH UPNVJ through collaboration with leading legal institutions in the ASEAN region.

The signing of the MoA was carried out directly by Dr. Suherman and Dean of School of Law Walailak University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nares Kesaprakorn

Dr. Suherman also said that this collaboration will be the foundation for the development of joint academic programs.

"In the future, we will conduct lecturer and student exchanges, collaborative research activities, and organize guest lectures and international conferences," said Dr. Suherman when met in Jakarta on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

"We believe that this collaboration will provide a positive contribution in expanding the global insight of the academic community, while strengthening UPNVJ's position as a campus that is active in international legal networks," he continued.

In the signing agenda, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nares Kesaprakorn appreciated UPNVJ's commitment in strengthening cross-country collaboration, especially in the field of legal education.

"This collaboration not only strengthens relations between institutions, but also between cultures and academic values," he said.

The signing ceremony of the two institutions was also attended by the leadership of the faculties of both universities as well as representatives of lecturers and students. This activity was also enlivened by a short academic discussion session and a visit to the FH UPNVJ campus facilities as a form of further introduction to the potential for collaboration that can be developed.

Through the signing of this MoA, FH UPNVJ confirms its commitment to building strategic global partnerships, especially in strengthening the quality of legal education that is responsive to the challenges of the globalization era.
