UPNVJ Showcases Patent Innovation at IP Expose 2025, Supporting Creativity and the National Economy

 

HUMASUPNVJ – The National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) through the Intellectual Property Center (Sentra KI) of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) exhibited a number of patent works in the Intellectual Property (IP) Expose 2025. The exhibition, which took place at the Smesco Convention Center, Jakarta, on August 13–16, 2025, became an event to introduce domestic innovations while encouraging collaboration and commercialization of intellectual works.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights through the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI), was officially opened by the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Daren Tang, and the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, Supratman Andi Agtas. The exhibition was attended by various state and private universities from across Indonesia, including UPNVJ, which showcased innovative research by its lecturers and academics.

The Intellectual Property Center (IPC) of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LPPM) of UPNVJ showcased several patents by UPNVJ lecturers as concrete evidence of the university's contribution to fostering a culture of innovation and the creation of original works in the academic environment. This participation demonstrates UPNVJ's role in supporting national creativity and expanding its collaborative network with industry partners and innovation activists. "We want to showcase UPNVJ's research potential to the public and open up commercialization opportunities for our innovative works," said a representative from the IP Center of LPPM UPNVJ.

In addition to the exhibition, IP Expose 2025 also featured an Executive Forum titled "IP Ecosystem for Economic Growth." This forum discussed the strategic role of intellectual property as an economic driver, drawing on best practices from countries such as Denmark, Singapore, and Japan. The concept of an Entrepreneurial University was emphasized as a model for higher education that focuses not only on education and research but also on developing innovations to marketability.

This exhibition provides a platform for UPNVJ to showcase its research potential to the public and industry, while also encouraging the downstreaming of research findings. By prioritizing collaboration and synergy, UPNVJ strives to make its intellectual output a driving force for national economic growth.

IP Expose 2025 runs daily from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM WIB until August 16, 2025, at the Smesco Convention Center in Jakarta. The event is open to the public and provides an opportunity for the public to experience firsthand the leading innovations from various universities in Indonesia.
