UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) continues its commitment to building an academic culture of integrity through an Academic Integrity Socialization event at the Faculty of Engineering. The event took place on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in the UPNVJ Faculty of Engineering Classroom, as part of an ongoing roadshow to instill the values of honesty, responsibility, and academic ethics among the academic community.
The outreach was led by Siti Rohana Nasution, a member of the Academic Integrity Outreach Team from the Faculty of Engineering. In her presentation, she explained various forms of academic misconduct, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, and violations of writing ethics. She also outlined national and internal campus regulations governing academic integrity. "A thorough understanding of academic ethics is crucial to preventing violations that often occur due to ignorance," Siti said.
This activity engaged Faculty of Engineering (FT) lecturers and students in an interactive discussion, focusing on the importance of maintaining ethics in scientific publications and the learning process. Participants were encouraged to understand the consequences of academic misconduct and preventative measures, such as the use of anti-plagiarism software and adherence to scientific writing guidelines.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UPNVJ, Muchamad Oktaviandri, emphasized that this outreach is a strategic step to strengthen the quality of education. "Academic integrity is a key pillar in maintaining the institution's reputation and producing ethical graduates," he said.
UPNVJ hopes this activity will raise awareness among the academic community about the importance of academic norms in learning and research. With a preventative approach, the university continues to strive to create a healthy, fair, and equitable academic environment aligned with the values of National Defense, while strengthening its position as a leading educational institution.
