Enjoy a More Peaceful Dining Experience: The Food Stall in the UPNVJ Canteen is Officially Halal Certified

UPNVJ Public Relations – Twenty-three food stalls in the cafeteria of the Veterans National Development University (UPNVJ) Jakarta were officially certified halal on Friday (October 10, 2025). This certification is the result of a collaboration between UPNVJ, the Cilandak District Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Management Unit (PMPTSP), and the University of Indonesia Halal Center, a Halal Product Processing Support Agency.

The certification handover was attended by Lindawaty, MKM, Head of the PMPTSP Management Unit of Cilandak District; Oky Sigit Hartomo, S.Sos, Head of the PMPTSP Management Unit of Pondok Labu Village; Nachnoer Vernier Atom, Head of Pondok Labu Village; and Soraya, ST, M.Hum, Deputy Chairperson of the Halal Product Processing Assistance Institute of the University of Indonesia Halal Center.

Lindawaty explained that this initiative targets micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Cilandak area, specifically the UPNVJ canteen. "We're starting from the immediate area. Cilandak has a large campus like UPNVJ, so we ensure the canteen here is halal-certified," she told UPNVJ Public Relations.

The certification process includes outreach, mentoring, and assessment of food ingredients, brands, purchasing locations, and processing methods. "The process is lengthy, but easy if you're willing. Our certified team ensures each step is carried out meticulously," added Lindawaty.

Mrs. Is, the owner of Kantin Bu Is, expressed her gratitude. "Thank God, this halal certification gives us peace of mind. Hopefully, our sales will increase," she told UPNVJ Public Relations.

This certification increases UPNVJ students' and academics' confidence in the halal food in the canteen. This collaboration also strengthens the development of halal-based MSMEs in the educational environment, supporting a trusted business ecosystem.
