Public Relations of UPNVJ – The Gita Advayatva Student Choir (PSM) of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) is back competing on the international stage at the 5th International Bandung Choral Festival (IBCF) 2025. After winning a gold medal at the 6th Penabur International Choir Festival 2024, PSM Gita Advayatva is determined to achieve similar achievements at the event held in Bandung, West Java, on October 9-12, 2025.
The 5th IBCF is held by the Bandung Choral Society to celebrate togetherness through choral music. This competition brings together choirs from various countries, creating musical harmony and strengthening camaraderie. Since its inception in 2015, this event has become a prestigious platform to showcase the quality of musicality and the spirit of collaboration.
The four-day series of events took place at the Auditorium of the Center for Academic and Lifestyle Development (PPAG) at Parahyangan Catholic University in Bandung. The event began with an opening ceremony on October 9, 2025, followed by workshops, a friendship concert, a Grand Prix competition, and concluded with the announcement of the winners and a closing ceremony on October 12, 2025.
The head of PSM Gita Advayatva, Hana Zuhria Hanum, explained her team's preparations. "We'll leave on October 8th for a test run, followed by the opening ceremony. The main competition will take place on October 10th and 11th, while the Grand Prix and closing ceremony will be held on October 12th," she told the UPNVJ Public Relations team.
PSM Gita Advayatva will compete in two categories: mixed choir and pop and jazz , with the goal of winning a gold medal. Besides demonstrating their musical prowess, this event provides a platform for the team to exchange experiences with international choirs.
With a spirit of togetherness and dedication, PSM Gita Advayatva is optimistic about strengthening UPNVJ's presence on the global stage. This competition is not only a showcase for achievement, but also a celebration of music that unites diverse cultures.
