UPNVJ Public Relations – Ni Komang Revalina Senandung Vazkya, a final-semester student in the Law Study Program at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ), is currently undergoing a three-month internship at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Cape Town, South Africa. This placement demonstrates UPNVJ's commitment to expanding global experiences for law students through collaboration with Indonesian diplomatic missions.
Revalina, familiarly known as Reva, arrived in Cape Town in early November 2025. During her internship, she was directly involved in managing legal and consular documents, serving Indonesian citizens in the Indonesian Consulate General's accreditation area, and documenting diplomatic activities using the official digital platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also had the opportunity to observe the process of resolving legal cases involving Indonesian citizens and coordinating with local authorities. This program is the result of collaboration between the UPNVJ Faculty of Law and the Directorate General of Protocol and Consular Affairs of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since 2023, the UPNVJ Law Study Program has sent a total of seven students to various Indonesian representatives abroad, including the Indonesian Consulate General in Cape Town, which this time became the first destination on the African continent.
"This internship strengthens the integration between international legal theory learned on campus and the daily practice of consular diplomacy," said Dr. Hj. Mas Dina Ariyanti, S.Hum., Dean of the Faculty of Law, UPNVJ. "We want UPNVJ law graduates to not only master national law but also be able to contribute to the protection of Indonesian citizens and international relations with a strong sense of national defense."
UPNVJ Rector, Dr. Anter Venus, MA, emphasized that the internationalization of education is one of the main pillars of the 2025–2029 Strategic Plan. "Global experience like Revalina's will be a valuable asset for the younger generation in facing legal challenges in the era of globalization," Venus said.
By November 2025, the UPNVJ Law Study Program had established international internship collaborations with six Indonesian representatives across four continents, making it one of the state law study programs with the most active internationalization portfolio in Jakarta.
