FIK UPNVJ Presents Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yun Huoy Choo from UTeM for a Workshop on Joint Research and Reputable Publications

 

Public Relations of UPNVJ - The Faculty of Computer Science of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a workshop themed "International Journal Writing and Joint Research" on December 8-11, 2025. This activity presented Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yun Huoy Choo from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) as the main resource person to improve the capacity of lecturers in reputable scientific publications and initiating cross-country research collaborations. Held in the FIK UPNVJ Meeting Room, this workshop involved lecturers from the D3 Information Systems, S1 Information Systems, and S1 Data Science Study Programs to strengthen academic quality through effective writing strategies and joint research opportunities.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yun Huoy Choo, an experienced academic in machine learning, data analytics, and artificial intelligence, led the session to share insights on international journal standards and research collaboration. As the Head of the CIT LAB Research Group in UTeM's Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, he has produced 67 publications with 697 citations, making him an ideal mentor for the participants.

The workshop runs for four days: Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM WIB, and Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM WIB, with a focus on in-depth understanding and practical application.

The Dean of FIK UPNVJ, Dr. Supriyanto, MT, stated that this activity is part of the faculty's commitment to improving the tridharma of higher education, especially publication and research.

He hopes the workshop will produce impactful scientific work and foster ongoing collaboration. This initiative supports UPNVJ's goal of strengthening research culture at the national and international levels.
