UPNVJ Distributes Aid and Trauma Healing for Children at Simpang Tiga Community Health Center Following the Aceh Floods

UPNVJ Public Relations – On December 24, 2025, not only at the Lhok Beringin Community Health Center, but the UPNVJ Emergency Response PKM Team also distributed medical equipment and medicines at the Simpang Tiga Community Health Center.

In addition, the team also focused on trauma healing for child flood victims through psychological support. This assistance was received directly by the Head of the Community Health Center, Said Azhar, who welcomed UPNVJ's initiative to ease the burden of post-disaster recovery.
Said Azhar explained that the community health center is located near a river mouth, making clearing the mud after the flood a major challenge. All medical equipment was submerged and washed away, hampering operations. "We need additional personnel for a comprehensive recovery and more assistance to recover from this tragedy," he said. Initially, the community health center team felt resigned, but the arrival of UPNVJ volunteers brought renewed hope.

The primary focus of the community health center is currently trauma healing for minors, helping them regain their sense of happiness appropriate to their age. This support involves volunteer psychiatrists, including Dr. dr. Ria Maria Theresa, SpKJ, MH, who is also the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Information Systems at UPNVJ. As a psychiatrist, she directly assists in the psychological recovery process of the flood-affected children.
