UPNVJ Public Relations - Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) distributed single tuition fee (UKT) assistance worth Rp148,902,000 to 31 students affected by flash floods and landslides in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra.
The handover was carried out directly by Vice Rector III Dr. Ria Maria Theresa, in the Nusantara 1 Room of the UPNVJ Rectorate Building. This assistance aims to ease the economic burden on students following the disaster that claimed 1,030 lives as of December 16, 2025, with a rigorous verification process to ensure it reaches its intended recipients.
In her remarks, Dr. Ria Maria Theresa, Vice Rector III of UPNVJ, stated that the university is committed to always being present among its students, especially in emergency situations. "We hope this UKT assistance can help students stay focused on completing their studies, even while facing challenging conditions due to disasters in their hometowns," Ria said.
The recipients of the aid comprised 14 students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, 2 from the Faculty of Law, 7 from the Faculty of Health Sciences, 5 from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and 3 from the Faculty of Engineering. This program is a form of UPNVJ's social responsibility to students facing economic hardship due to flooding since late November 2025, which damaged 186,000 homes and 219 health facilities across three provinces. Dr. Ria Maria Theresa stated that the aid helps students focus on their studies despite facing difficult conditions in their hometowns.
In addition, UPNVJ will also provide living expenses and basic food assistance. This initiative underscores UPNVJ's commitment to solidarity and national defense, in line with inclusive education. The university will develop similar programs to foster a caring and competitive academic environment.
