UPNVJ Supports Inclusive Vocational Training at BBPVP Bekasi, Focusing on Equal Access for Persons with Disabilities

Public Relations of UPNVJ – Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), Prof. Dr. Ir. Netti Herawati, M.Si was present as a resource person at the Inclusive Vocational Design Seminar held by the Bekasi Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BBPVP) on Monday (29/12/2025) at the Creative Room of BBPVP Bekasi.

This seminar was held to strengthen access to training for all levels of society, including people with disabilities. Initiated by Yose Rizal, S.TP., MM, Head of the Bekasi BBPVP, the event aimed to strengthen synergy and shared understanding regarding adaptive and supportive vocational education.

In her presentation, Prof. Netti outlined various strategic steps UPNVJ is preparing to create an inclusive campus. These include accepting students with disabilities, optimizing the Disability Services Unit (ULD), which will be inaugurated in early December 2025 to support the study process, and providing facilities and infrastructure tailored to the specific needs of each student.

Furthermore, UPNVJ is also preparing to strengthen the capacity of lecturers to provide adaptive and sustainable learning support. Volunteer support is also available, particularly in assisting students with disabilities with their final assignments, ensuring optimal and dignified academic progress.

UPNVJ, which focuses not only on education, also places significant emphasis on the transition of graduates with disabilities into the workforce. Through a structured internship program, students with disabilities are expected to be more closely connected to industry needs and gain decent employment opportunities at their internship sites.

This seminar provided a platform for sharing best practices and strengthening collaboration between higher education and vocational training. The synergy between UPNVJ and BBPVP Bekasi is expected to become a model for inclusive vocational development with a tangible impact on improving the quality of Indonesia's human resources.
