UPNVJ Public Relations - The Office of International Affairs (KUI) of the Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) conducted a delegation visit to the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) to consolidate international cooperation and develop cross-sectoral collaboration with the local government. Led by Dr. Bambang Susanto, MA, a representative of the UPNVJ KUI, the meeting outlined strategic achievements until early 2026 to strengthen the sustainable internationalization of higher education. The visit aimed to build synergies that would impact the improvement of the quality of globally competitive education, through the identification of new opportunities such as student exchanges and joint research.
Dr. Bambang Susanto presented the progress of the KUI agenda, including inbound student mobility with the presence of students from Ablai Khan University in Kazakhstan and Samarkand State University in Uzbekistan in related faculties. Other achievements include outbound mobility to partner universities such as Poitiers University in France and Walailak University in Thailand, as well as scholarship programs for international students with full and partial scholarship allocations. In addition, the establishment of a counseling institution to support international students, a double degree program in the International Relations Study Program with Ablai Khan University and the Faculty of Economics and Business with Walailak University were discussed.
The meeting also highlighted promotional initiatives such as the publication of the KUI's annual and monthly newsletters, website and social media optimization, and the provision of TV information media at the KUI office. Strategic collaborations include a Central Asian Studies seminar with the Embassy of Kazakhstan and the University of Mataram, a Green City and Environment program with the Jakarta Provincial Government and German partners, and cooperation with Rajamangala University Thailand to improve the Global City Index in the fields of education, arts, culture, and sports. Additionally, inter-faculty training with Jiangxi University of Water Resources and Electric Power China, student satisfaction surveys, promotion of overseas scholarships, and periodic evaluation of MoUs with domestic and international partners.
Future plans include visits from Batangas University Philippines on April 20, 2026, De La Salle University Philippines on February 12, 2026, Lobachevsky University Russia on February 11, 2026, and an invitation to the Russian Embassy on February 2, 2026. This activity is expected to compile a map of cooperation implementation in seven UPNVJ faculties, identify active MoUs, increase faculty involvement in international programs, and optimize the role of the Head of Sub-KUI Faculty for activities such as joint research, joint publications, and international seminars.
