Public Relations of UPNVJ – Students of the Avicenna Health Assistance Corps (KBK) of the Faculty of Medicine, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) provided post-flood health services in Sukadame Village and Bulagor Village, Pagelaran District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. This activity targeted residents affected by the Cilemer River overflow flood that hit 12 districts and affected around 25,000 people since early January 2026, as a form of student service in humanitarian efforts.
The KBK Avicenna Rapid Response Team departed at 7:47 a.m. WIB and arrived around 12:30 p.m. WIB. They coordinated with the village head, sub-district head, and local community health center before beginning services. Floodwaters had receded in most areas, although access roads remained knee-deep in water, and heavy rain continued to fall, causing minor damage to infrastructure.
Services began at 2:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time) with direct visits to residents' homes. The primary focus was post-flood health assessments, including blood pressure checks and treatment of minor complaints. The most common complaints included itchy skin, flu, fever, and body aches. Some residents also experienced hypertension.
The team provided brief health education and prescribed medications as indicated, such as cetirizine, paracetamol, flutamol, promag, sanmol, and ketoconazole antifungal ointment. All treatments were administered rationally.
This activity emphasizes the active role of UPNVJ students in supporting disaster-affected communities, while also implementing the university's social care values.
