UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) has officially implemented a national policy to strengthen the spirit of national defense on campus. Starting this week, all academics (lecturers, administrative staff, students, and staff) are required to listen to and sing the national anthem "Indonesia Raya" together every Monday and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. WIB, standing upright and in perfect posture.
This policy is stated in the official announcement of the UPNVJ Chancellor which follows up on the Circular Letter of the Minister of State Secretary Number B-32/KSN/S/TU.00/01/2025 dated January 20, 2025 concerning Notification to Listen and Sing the National Anthem Indonesia Raya.
UPNVJ Rector Prof. Anter Venus expressed full support for the government's directive. "UPNVJ is known as a national defense campus, so we must implement this in our daily lives," he said. He emphasized the importance of fostering a spirit of nationalism and love for the homeland through this simple yet meaningful activity. (5/2)
The announcement also emphasized two main points:
- All employees and students are required to sing Indonesia Raya while standing upright with perfect posture.
- Everyone who is on campus when the song is played must stop their activities for a moment and stand up straight in a respectful manner.
This policy aligns with similar implementations in various ministries, institutions, and regional governments, such as the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the ATR/BPN, and several other universities that have begun implementing the circular since early February 2025.
As a campus that officially holds the status of National Defense Campus, UPNVJ sees this momentum as a real opportunity to internalize the values of Pancasila and nationalism in daily routines.
The Chancellor hopes that the entire academic community can carry out this obligation solemnly and enthusiastically, so that the spirit of defending the country becomes increasingly embedded in everyday campus life.
