UPNVJ Public Relations – The Undergraduate Communication Studies Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ), underwent an accreditation field assessment on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. This activity is part of the accreditation assessment process toward a superior ranking by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Social, Political, Administrative, and Communication Studies (LAMSPAK).
The field assessment was conducted by two LAMSPAK assessors, namely Dr. Rudianto, M.Si and Prof. Dr. Najahan Musyafak, MA, through direct data verification and assessment of accreditation documents.
The assessment activity was officially opened by UPNVJ Rector Prof. Anter Venus. In his remarks, he emphasized that accreditation is not merely an administrative process, but rather a form of institutional accountability in maintaining and improving the quality of higher education.
"Accreditation is a shared responsibility to continuously improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia. Since becoming a state university, UPNVJ has continued to improve and solidify the direction of institutional development," said Prof. Venus.
Prof. Venus also stated that the Communication Science Study Program has a strong track record, including being the study program with the highest number of applicants nationally in 2018. Furthermore, the value of national defense, which has been UPNVJ's identity since its inception, remains the main foundation for educational development.
"The value of national defense is enshrined in the UPNVJ statutes. This principle was born from the spirit of the founders, who were warriors, and is still embodied in educational orientation, including through the publication of various national defense books," he said.
The Rector added that since its nationalization, UPNVJ has seen a significant increase in the number of applicants. UPNVJ's average UTBK score has consistently ranked among the top 10 nationally from 2019 to 2025. Furthermore, the institution's internationalization has been intensified since late 2022 through international collaborations, international student admissions, and encouragement of the internationalization of lecturers and students. Several faculties, including the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), have also undergone international accreditation from the FIBAA in Germany.
Meanwhile, LAMSPAK assessor Dr. Rudianto, M.Si said that the field assessment aims to confirm the conformity of the data submitted in the accreditation document with the LAMSPAK assessment indicators.
"We are here to confirm that the data entered meets the LAMSPAK indicators. This accreditation instrument is a forum for discussion and sharing of good practices, not for finding fault," he said.
Prof. Dr. Najahan Musyafak, MA, expressed similar sentiments. He stated that the field assessment also served as a platform for fostering friendship and directly observing the academic conditions and governance of the institution.
"We observe how the academic and management processes are running, both overtly and behind the scenes. We believe all leaders and teams have optimally prepared for this assessment," he said.
He emphasized that accreditation is essentially a continuous process to achieve excellence while upholding professionalism in the management of higher education.
Through this field assessment, the Communication Science Study Program, FISIP UPNVJ Undergraduate Program, hopes to obtain optimal results while strengthening its commitment to providing quality, competitive education based on the values of national defense.
