UPNVJ's D3 Physiotherapy Program Focuses on Producing Competent Healthcare Workers Based on Clinical Practice

UPNVJ Public Relations – The Diploma Three (D3) Physiotherapy Program at the Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) continues to strengthen its commitment to preparing professional and competent healthcare workers capable of contributing to public health services. Through a practice-based curriculum and the support of adequate laboratory and clinical practice facilities, this study program prepares graduates capable of comprehensively treating various movement and body function disorders. This effort is made in response to the increasing need for physiotherapy personnel in various healthcare facilities.

Mona Oktarina, Head of the Diploma 3 Physiotherapy Study Program at UPNVJ, explained that physiotherapy is a health science field that focuses on the restoration, maintenance, and improvement of a person's movement and body function. Therefore, the educational process is designed to provide not only conceptual understanding but also emphasize the mastery of applicable clinical skills.

"UPNVJ's Physiotherapy Diploma 3 program provides practice-based learning through various laboratory and clinical activities, supported by adequate learning facilities. Our curriculum is designed to ensure students not only understand the basic concepts of physiotherapy but also develop the technical skills to treat and rehabilitate patients," said Mona in an interview on the UPNVJ campus on Friday (March 6, 2026).

In addition to on-campus learning, students also gain practical experience in the field at various healthcare institutions. This program is a crucial part of the learning process, aiming to strengthen students' professional competencies and enhance their readiness to enter the workforce upon graduation.

According to Mona, the clinical practice experience provides students with the opportunity to directly understand the dynamics of healthcare services and interact with patients under the supervision of professionals. Through this approach, students are trained to develop analytical skills, therapeutic skills, and professional ethics in physiotherapy practice.

Graduates of the UPNVJ Diploma in Physiotherapy program have a wide range of career opportunities, ranging from hospitals, physiotherapy clinics, medical rehabilitation centers, to sports facilities and other healthcare services. As public awareness of the importance of medical rehabilitation and physical fitness increases, the demand for competent physiotherapists continues to grow.

Through curriculum development that adapts to the needs of the healthcare industry and improving the quality of learning facilities, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta continues to strive to produce competent, integrity-driven physiotherapy graduates who are ready to provide professional healthcare services to the community. This effort aligns with the university's commitment to supporting the strengthening of the national healthcare sector by providing superior and competitive human resources.
