UPNVJ and BPH Migas Discuss Collaboration to Strengthen the National Energy Sector

UPNVJ Public Relations — The “Veteran” National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) together with Nusantara One held an audience with the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) to discuss collaboration opportunities in strengthening the national energy sector, particularly in the downstream oil and gas sector.
The meeting, held at the BPH Migas office, was the first step in building synergy between universities, regulators, and strategic partners in addressing the challenges of the energy transition in Indonesia.
The audience was initiated by Nusantara One through Charles Bonar Sirait and the Rector of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, Prof. Anter Venus. This initiative aims to open up strategic collaboration between the academic world and energy regulators to support policy development and strengthen energy literacy in the community.
BPH Migas Secretary, Patuan Alfons S., welcomed the collaborative initiative. He stated that university involvement could enrich academic studies and provide research-based input for the development of national energy policy.
"Collaboration with academia is crucial for enriching research and providing constructive input for energy policy development, particularly in the downstream oil and gas sector," he said.
UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Rector, Prof. Anter Venus, emphasized that this collaboration aligns with the spirit of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, which upholds the motto "Impact." He said that universities are encouraged to develop programs and innovations that provide tangible benefits to society and national development.
Meanwhile, Charles Bonar Sirait assessed that strengthening collaboration in the energy sector is part of the contribution of higher education institutions in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the aspects of clean and affordable energy, sustainable development, and strengthening cross-sector partnerships.
During the meeting, the two parties also discussed a number of opportunities for collaboration, including holding seminars, joint research, and public education programs on energy governance and fuel distribution in Indonesia.
UPN "Veteran" Jakarta also announced plans to establish a BPH Migas Corner on campus. This facility is designed to serve as a center for information, literacy, and education regarding the downstream oil and gas sector for students and academics.
Through this collaboration, it is hoped that the synergy between regulators and the academic world will be strengthened in supporting sustainable energy management and strengthening national energy security.
