Among the seven state universities with the most competitive study programs in the 2026 National Student Admissions Test (SNBP), UPNVJ secured two positions.

Public Relations of UPNVJ – Appreciation was given to seven State Universities that succeeded in placing their study programs in the list of academic study programs with the highest level of competition in the 2026 National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) pathway. Based on the infographic of the 10 Most Competitive Academic Study Programs in the 2026 SNBP Pathway, the seven PTNs are Surabaya State University (UNESA), Malang State University (UNM), Jakarta State University (UNJ), UPN “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), Lampung University (UNILA), Semarang State University (UNNES), and the University of North Sumatra (USU). This data shows the high competition to enter state universities as well as the strong public trust in superior study programs at various state universities.

UPNVJ is one of the only state universities to have two study programs on the national list. The two programs included: Film, Television, and Media Studies, ranked fourth, and Pharmacy, ranked seventh. This achievement confirms that UPNVJ is not only competitive with established study programs but also able to attract high interest in programs relevant to the development of the film, media, and health industries.

The complete list of the 10 most competitive study programs in the 2026 National Student Admissions Program (SNBP) shows that Nursing at Surabaya State University is in first place with 1,693 applicants, 10 accepted, and a competitive rate of 0.59 percent. Second place is Nursing at Malang State University with 1,252 applicants, 11 accepted, and a competitive rate of 0.88 percent. Third place is Communication Science at Jakarta State University with 1,806 applicants, 16 accepted, and a competitive rate of 0.89 percent.

In fourth place is the Film, Television, and Media Studies Department of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta with 831 applicants, 8 accepted, and a competitiveness rate of 0.96 percent. Fifth place is taken by the Nutrition Department of the University of Lampung with 917 applicants, 10 accepted, and a competitiveness rate of 1.09 percent. Sixth place is the Communication Science Department of Semarang State University with 2,433 applicants, 27 accepted, and a competitiveness rate of 1.11 percent.

Next, seventh place was occupied by Pharmacy at UPN “Veteran” Jakarta with 1,071 applicants, 12 accepted, and a competitive rate of 1.12 percent. Eighth place was Physiotherapy at Surabaya State University with 1,010 applicants, 12 accepted, and a competitive rate of 1.19 percent. Ninth place was occupied by Medicine at Semarang State University with 664 applicants, 8 accepted, and a competitive rate of 1.20 percent. Meanwhile, tenth place was occupied by Mining Engineering at the University of North Sumatra with 1,227 applicants, 15 accepted, and a competitive rate of 1.22 percent.

The inclusion of seven state universities on this list demonstrates that study programs in the health, communication, media, and engineering sectors remain top destinations for prospective students using the SNBP pathway. The admissions rate, which is below two percent, reflects a highly competitive selection process. In the context of UPNVJ, the success of two study programs in making the national list is an indicator of the university's increasing academic appeal at the national level.

For UPNVJ, this achievement holds strategic significance. The Film, Television, and Media Studies study program demonstrates that academic innovation aligned with current developments can generate a positive response from the public. Meanwhile, the Pharmacy study program reaffirms its position as a consistently sought-after and highly competitive program. The presence of two UPNVJ study programs on the same list signifies that academic quality enhancement is taking place in various fields in parallel.

These results align with the policy direction of UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., who encourages the development of relevant, competitive study programs that meet the needs of the times. Strengthening the curriculum, supporting competent lecturers, and updating learning facilities are important foundations for increasing public trust in UPNVJ. The results of the 2026 SNBP also confirm that UPNVJ is not only an option but is increasingly being considered in the competitive landscape of national higher education.
