Muhammad Raja Natanawi's Spirit Inspires Him to Continue Taking the UTBK Despite Preparing for Surgery

UPNVJ Public Relations – The fighting spirit of the participants of the Computer-Based Written National Selection Test (UTBK-SNBT) was once again evident at the UPN “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) UTBK Center on Thursday (April 23, 2026). Muhammad Raja Natanawi, a student at SMKN 1 West Cikarang, continued to take the exam despite being injured and preparing for surgery on his leg. This decision demonstrated his strong determination to continue fighting for the opportunity to enter a state university.

Muhammad revealed that the injury was the result of an accident he had recently experienced. According to the doctor, there was fluid in his knee, requiring surgery. However, the surgery was postponed so he could still take the UTBK (Competitive Test) first.

"His leg hurts. It's from an accident. When he went to the hospital, they said there was fluid in his knee and he was planning to have surgery. He'll be seen by a surgeon at Fatmawati Hospital after the UTBK (Competitive Test) is completed today," he said.

Despite his physical condition still not fully recovered, Muhammad still showed up with enthusiasm and confidence to take the exam. For him, the UTBK was a crucial step toward realizing his dream of continuing his education at a state university.

When asked about his reasons for taking the exam, Muhammad answered briefly but meaningfully, "The reason is that I want to get into a state university."

Muhammad not only fought for himself, but also offered an encouraging message to other UTBK participants. He urged fellow university students to never give up under any circumstances, especially those without physical challenges.

"Stay enthusiastic no matter what the circumstances," he said.

The story of Muhammad Raja Natanawi is a vivid illustration of how physical limitations don't always hinder one's progress. His determination and motivation convey a powerful message that the struggle for higher education requires courage, resilience, and unwavering hope.
