Commemorating Pancasila Day 2026, UPNVJ Strengthens the Spirit of Unity on the National Defense Campus

UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Day 2026 on campus on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. The solemn ceremony was attended by university leaders, lecturers, educational staff, and students, as a sign of respect for the fundamental values of the Indonesian nation.

Serving as the ceremony instructor, Prof. Netti Herawati, Vice Rector for Planning, General Affairs, and Finance, read the address from the Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP). The address emphasized that the commemoration of Pancasila Day is not merely an annual ceremony, but rather a moment of reflection to ensure that the values of Pancasila remain alive in the life of the nation and state.

This year's commemoration is themed "Pancasila, the Uniting Nation, the Foundation of World Peace." This theme emphasizes that Pancasila is not only relevant for maintaining Indonesian unity but also holds the key to achieving lasting world peace.

In his address, the Head of BPIP stated that Pancasila is a "guiding star" that has proven capable of maintaining Indonesia's integrity amidst its diversity, consisting of thousands of islands and hundreds of ethnic groups. Pancasila is also referred to as the nation's "moral anchor" in facing various global challenges, from technological disruption to global geopolitical dynamics.

In addition, it was also conveyed that Indonesia has a constitutional responsibility to participate in maintaining world order as mandated by the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. The values of deliberation and consensus contained in Pancasila are considered to be important instruments in diplomacy and conflict resolution at the global level.

The Head of BPIP also called on all elements of the nation, especially the younger generation, to make Pancasila a living ideology, one that is lived out in everyday life. It is hoped that the noble values of Pancasila will not be merely symbols, but will be truly implemented in every action and policy. "Don't let these noble values become mere decorations on office walls or text in history books," read the message read by Prof. Netti.

The message also emphasized the importance of maintaining unity and continuing to combat intolerance and radicalism, which could undermine national harmony. All elements of society were encouraged to strengthen their commitment to nationalism and demonstrate to the world that Indonesia is a great nation that upholds religiosity, unity, and humanitarian values.

Through the commemoration of Pancasila Birth Day in 2026, the UPNVJ academic community is expected to further strengthen the spirit of nationalism and practice the values of Pancasila in everyday life, both on campus and in society.
