Supporting Workplace Readiness, UPNVJ Facilitates AIESEC Initiative to Build Career Potential in Younger Generations

Public Relations of UPNVJ – AIESEC in UPNVJ held Impact Circle 8.0 with the theme “Beyond Borders: Career Readiness in a Global Changing World” at the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta, Limo Campus, Depok, on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The activity, which took place from 9:00 to 14:15 WIB, focused on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Number 8 concerning Decent Work and Economic Growth. Through seminars, interactive discussions, artificial intelligence (AI) practices, and curriculum vitae (CV) reviews, this activity became a space for self-development for students and the younger generation to improve career readiness amidst changes in the global workplace.

Impact Circle 8.0 was held in response to the needs of the younger generation in navigating the increasingly competitive, cross-border, and technology-driven world of work. AIESEC in UPNVJ presents a learning forum that not only emphasizes career insights but also builds awareness of the importance of leadership, adaptability, and contribution to inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

This activity was initiated through a collaboration with Bangor and several other partners. Participants included students and young people interested in developing their potential, expanding their networks, and preparing for the professional world.

Impact Circle 8.0 featured speakers from diverse backgrounds, including representatives from Generation Girl, Hangry, Bluebird, and Global Volunteer alumni. The speakers shared their experiences and insights on career development, leadership, preparedness for industry change, and the importance of cross-cultural experiences in shaping a global perspective.

In addition to the seminar sessions, participants also participated in interactive discussions designed to encourage active engagement. These sessions provided opportunities for participants to raise questions, develop new perspectives, and understand the skills needed to meet the challenges of today's workplace.

As a form of applied learning, Impact Circle 8.0 also featured an AI hands-on session. This session gave participants the opportunity to experience the use of technology firsthand, particularly in supporting productivity, career development, and preparing for the increasingly digital demands of the industry.

The event also included a CV review session. This session provided participants with input on how to create a more relevant, structured, and professional document that meets the needs of the workplace. This session is crucial because CVs often serve as the first step for young people in accessing internships, job opportunities, and other personal development programs.

As an international youth organization, AIESEC plays a role in fostering youth leadership development through cross-cultural experiences, social projects, and personal development programs. The values of leadership, diversity, integrity, and sustainability underpin the implementation of various programs, including Impact Circle 8.0, which is aimed at supporting the achievement of the SDGs.

Through Impact Circle 8.0, participants are expected to not only gain new insights but also develop practical skills to compete globally. This activity also encourages young people to become more confident in taking on roles in creating an inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable work ecosystem.

For UPNVJ, student activities focused on youth capacity development align with the National Defense Campus's spirit of developing adaptive, competent, and socially conscious graduates. From an institutional perspective, programs like Impact Circle 8.0 reinforce the direction of student development, ensuring they are not only prepared to enter the workforce but also able to positively impact society and national development.
