UPNVJ Public Relations - Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) is once again one of the centers for the 2026 Independent Selection for State Universities in the Western Region, or SMMPTN Barat. The exam at UPNVJ will take place over five days, June 18–20 and June 22–23, 2026, with two sessions each day. As of Friday, June 19, 2026, the selection process has proceeded smoothly and is supported by the readiness of the committee, supervisors, technicians, and computer-based exam infrastructure.
UPNVJ's Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Henry Binsar Hamonangan Sitorus, stated that the SMMPTN Barat (Western State University Entrance Examination) is a routine program organized by the West Region State University Cooperation Agency (BKS PTN Barat) Consortium. He stated that this selection is part of an effort to expand public access to further education at state universities.
"This year, UPNVJ is again holding the 2026 West SMMPTN UTBK. This activity is a routine agenda carried out by the West PTN BKS as part of an effort to expand access to higher education for the community," said Henry.
He explained that 1,058 participants took the exam at UPNVJ, divided into two sessions each day: a morning session and an afternoon session. This division of sessions was carried out to ensure the exam process was orderly, measured, and in accordance with selection regulations.
"Every exam day is divided into two sessions, namely the morning session and the afternoon session, with a total of 1,058 participants at UPNVJ who take part in the selection according to their respective choices," he explained.
To ensure the smooth implementation of the 2026 West SMMPTN, UPNVJ has prepared several technical and non-technical aspects. These preparations include human resource support, exam room readiness, computer equipment, internet connection, and coordination with relevant parties to anticipate potential issues during the exam.
"We have prepared support for the committee, both in terms of human resources, such as supervisors and technicians, and facilities and infrastructure, such as computers and networks. We are also coordinating with PLN (State Electricity Company) to ensure a stable electricity supply during the exam," said Henry.
In addition to infrastructure readiness, UPNVJ also prioritizes the integrity of the selection process. Henry emphasized that the exam must be orderly, comfortable, and transparent so that all participants have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their best abilities.
"UPNVJ is committed to supporting equal access to higher education by providing ample opportunities for students to continue their education at state universities. Through an orderly, comfortable, and transparent selection process, we hope all participants can perform optimally in the exam," he said.
Henry hopes that all SMMPTN Barat 2026 participants will achieve the best results according to their individual potential, interests, and abilities. He also emphasized the importance of fair selection as part of efforts to open up educational mobility for prospective students from various regions.
"Hopefully, all participants can get the same opportunity to achieve higher education and achieve their dreams," Henry concluded.
