UPNVJ Celebrates Performance Achievements Through Independence Day Tumpeng Ceremony, Seven Faculties Record Achievements

UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) commemorated the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia by expressing gratitude for the various achievements and accomplishments achieved in the past two months. UPNVJ Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., along with the leadership, cut the tumpeng (rice cone) in the corridor of the UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine, Pondok Labu Campus, South Jakarta, Monday (17/8/2026), after a series of independence ceremonies. The activity was a form of appreciation to the faculties, institutions, lecturers, educational staff, students, and all elements of the university who contributed to improving the quality of UPNVJ.

The tumpeng cutting ceremony was not just a part of the independence celebrations, but also a moment to reflect on the results of collaborative work across various sectors. Several targets in the areas of accreditation, study program development, academic reputation, innovation, and digital transformation were achieved in a relatively short time.

This achievement was marked, among other things, by the success of the Master of Management Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) in achieving the Excellent Accreditation rating. This achievement also strengthens the academic quality of UPNVJ, which by July 2026 had 44 study programs, with approximately 45 percent of them having the Excellent or A status.

The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) recorded a similar development. The Undergraduate Nursing Study Program and the Professional Nursing Education Study Program both successfully achieved Superior Accreditation from LAM-PTKes in early August 2026.

At the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program has also successfully upgraded its accreditation status to Excellent. This distinction was achieved after an evaluation of governance, faculty quality, curriculum, research and community service, student achievement, alumni, and institutional collaborations.

The Faculty of Law (FH) also achieved success by being nominated for the best university in the West Java region and achieving an award in legal literacy. These achievements strengthen the faculty's contribution to developing legal education while increasing legal literacy and awareness in the community.

Meanwhile, the Faculty of Engineering (FT) has recorded that all study programs that have undergone the accreditation process have received the status of "Unggul" (Excellent). According to UPNVJ accreditation data, the Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Naval Architecture, and Electrical Engineering study programs currently hold the "Unggul" (Excellent) status. In addition to strengthening the quality of study programs, FT is also developing its academic reputation by holding reputable seminars and expanding its educational field by opening new study programs.

In the field of medical education, the Faculty of Medicine (FK) achieved full accreditation for two study programs within eight years. This quality improvement coincides with the faculty's preparations for international accreditation and the expansion of educational programs in the fields of medicine and health. Preparations for the Medical Study Program's international accreditation have been intensively underway since early 2026.

Transformation is also underway at the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) through the development of OneUPNVJ, an integrated digital ecosystem that unifies application services and supports the integration of data and university business processes. OneUPNVJ is part of UPNVJ's move from a digital campus to a smart university.

The series of achievements from these seven faculties demonstrates that UPNVJ's quality improvement spans multiple dimensions, from study program quality and academic reputation to scientific development and service innovation, to digital governance. These achievements also demonstrate that the institution's targets are not merely translated into documents and work programs but are beginning to yield measurable results.

For UPNVJ, the spirit of independence therefore extends beyond ceremonies and ceremonial activities. Independence is defined through the institution's ability to continuously develop, innovate, improve the quality of education, and generate benefits for students and the community.

The cutting of the tumpeng symbolizes that the university's achievements are the result of collective effort. The university leadership's directives are translated through the work of deans, heads of institutions and units, lecturers, educational staff, and students, resulting in various advancements that can be felt collectively.

UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm. views these achievements not as an endpoint, but rather as a stepping stone to accelerate UPNVJ's transformation. A culture of quality, collaboration, innovation, strengthening academic reputation, and improving service quality must be maintained so that the achievements can develop into sustainable institutional excellence.

This spirit aligns with the official theme of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, "Indonesia Berdaulat, Adil, dan Makmur," which places the participation and contribution of every element of society as a vital part of Indonesia's development. For UPNVJ, as a National Defense Campus, this contribution is realized through quality education, innovation, scientific development, and service that impacts the nation.
