UPNVJ Public Relations - Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) continued its 2026 Research, Community Service, and Entrepreneurship Week series by presenting activities focused on improving the capacity of its academic community in scientific publications and research proposal preparation. The third day's agenda, which took place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, featured a Scopus-Based Scientific Article Writing Workshop and a BRIN Proposal Clinic at the UPNVJ Integrated Laboratory in Pademangan.
This activity is part of UPNVJ's strategy to build a more competitive research ecosystem by improving the quality of scientific articles, strengthening reputable publication strategies, and assisting in the preparation of research proposals that have the potential to obtain external funding.
In the first session, held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM WIB, participants took part in a Scopus-Based Scientific Article Writing Workshop presented by Prof. Achmad Nizar Hidayanto, S.Kom., M.Kom., Professor of Scientific Publications. In this session, participants gained an understanding of scientific article writing strategies, improving manuscript quality, the peer review process, citation strategies, indexing, and efforts to increase publication visibility.
Prof. Achmad Nizar Hidayanto said that scientific publications are not only oriented towards achieving the number of articles, but must also have a clear contribution to the development of science.
"The quality of scientific articles must be developed holistically. Researchers need to ensure that their research results make a strong academic contribution, are relevant, and impact the development of science," said Prof. Achmad Nizar.
According to him, understanding the publication process is an important aspect for lecturers and researchers to improve the quality of scientific work and at the same time expand recognition of research results at the national and international levels.
Next, in the second session from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM WIB, participants attended the BRIN Proposal Clinic with Prof. Ir. Anwar Ilmar Ramadhan, Professor of the Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta. This activity provided guidance on research proposal development strategies, grant application mechanisms, proposal evaluation, and the development of a research roadmap.
Through this clinic, participants are guided to prepare research proposals that not only fulfill administrative aspects, but also have strong problems, measurable objectives, appropriate methodology, and clear research sustainability.
The series of activities on the third day of UPNVJ's 2026 Research, Community Service, and Entrepreneurship Week demonstrated the university's commitment to strengthening a productive, innovative, and impact-oriented academic culture. Increasing researcher capacity is expected to foster reputable publications, research innovation, and increasingly competitive research proposals.
Through various capacity building programs during the 2026 UPNVJ Research, Community Service, and Entrepreneurship Week, UPNVJ continues to encourage its academic community to produce superior work, strengthen the institution's reputation, and expand the university's contribution to science- and innovation-based development.
