Note! Ministry of Education and Culture Opens Registration for KIP Lectures Until 31 March 2020

SNMPTN applicants from underprivileged families are expected to finalize after registering

Jakarta, Ministry of Education and Culture --- The Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) opens opportunities for prospective students from underprivileged families who do not yet have an Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) to continue to register for the National Selection for State University Entrance (SNMPTN) by submitting an application for KIP Lectures. Registration for KIP Lectures is open from 2 to 31 March 2020 until 23.59 WIB via the website http://kip-kuliah.kemdikbud.go.id/.

Acting Director General of Higher Education at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Nizam, emphasized that KIP Lectures is a form of strengthening the Bidikmisi program which is carried out through expanding access for students from underprivileged families to study at tertiary institutions.

"This year, the Government issued a KIP Lecture policy to integrate it with the policies that have been implemented for the past five years, namely KIP owned by high school and vocational students. It needs to be stated that the KIP Lecture policy is temporarily intended only for prospective new students on campus," delivered by Nizam at the Office of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Jakarta, Monday (24/2).

At present, registration for the National Selection to Enter State Universities (SNMPTN) has been opened. Originally, registration would close on February 27 2020 at 23.50, but specifically for prospective students from underprivileged families who need KIP Lectures, an extension of time is provided which adjusts the KIP Lecture registration, namely March 2 to 31 2020.

For prospective students who do not need financial support from the government and wish to register for the state university entrance selection (PTN) through the SNMPTN route, they can register until the specified date (27 February 2020) and immediately carry out the finalization. Likewise for prospective students who already have KIP at the previous level of education.

The Head of the Implementation Team for the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT), Mohammad Nasih, explained that prospective students from underprivileged families who do not yet have a KIP can still register for SNMPTN up to filling out study programs and university choices. However, it is hoped that they will not finalize before registering on the KIP Lecture page.

"Registration for KIP College starts in early March. It's okay to start registering and fill in the information that needs to be included in the SNMPTN registration, but we advise you not to finalize it yet. If the KIP College registration is complete, only then can the SNMPTN registration be finalized and print cards ," said Nasir.

As confirmed by Nasih, special SNMPTN registration for underprivileged students who need KIP Lectures has indeed been extended until the end of March 2020, adjusting to KIP Lecture registration which will be held from 2 to 31 March 2020.

The SNMPT registration process itself can be done via the http://portal.ltmpt.ac.id/ page. On that page, applicants will be asked to fill in their biodata, choice of state tertiary institution, and choice of study program, as well as upload additional achievement documents (if any). The final step is finalization. If it has been finalized, applicants are deemed to have finished registering, so they must print a Registration Evidence Card as proof of SNMPTN participants.

For those who wish to register for KIP in college, prospective students can do it independently by directly accessing the http://kip-kuliah.kemdikbud.go.id/ page. After entering the page, the system will validate the National Identity Number (NIK), National Student Identification Number (NISN), National School Identification Number (NPSN), and eligibility to get KIP Lectures.

If declared successful, prospective students will receive a Registration Number and Access Code to the electronic mail (e-mail) that has been registered. After that, the college KIP registration process was completed. (*)
