Reporting from the Kompas.com page Registration for the 2020 SNMPTN will close February 27 2020 at 23.50 WIB . However, specifically for prospective students from underprivileged families who need KIP Lectures, they will be given an extension of time.
Extension of time for SNMPTN (National Selection for Higher Education Entrance) will be given following the time for KIP Lecture registration, which is from 2 to 31 March 2020.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT), Prof. Mohammad Nasih through the official release of the Ministry of Education and Culture (24/2/2020). Prof. Nasih explained that prospective students from underprivileged families who don't have KIP at all can still register for SNMPTN and fill in their study program and university choice.
However, it is hoped that they will not finalize before registering on the KIP Lecture page. Regarding the 2020 SNMPTN registration, the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Higher Education (Dikti) of the Ministry of Education and Culture through the official Instagram account @ditjen.dikti provides tips and reference tricks in choosing PTNs and study programs:
- Choose the right major
Considerations for choosing the right major can be done by following your interests and talents. Interests and talents will make you continue to have "energy" to face any challenges that must be faced while undergoing your choice of study program later.
- Know your grades
Be realistic. Understand your strengths and weaknesses based on your report card scores. Don't force yourself to choose a study program just because you "like it" but you will have difficulty taking courses that you are not good at.
- Find out your rivals. Choose science and social studies study programs,
you should find out the level of competition of the study program you choose. Do not let you choose a major that accumulates enthusiasts. However, if you feel confident that you are able to compete, live and keep fighting!
- Study school relations
One thing that is rarely paid attention to is studying the relationship between the school and the PTN of your choice. Several schools were included in the sanctions list because many graduates canceled or refused to take the SNMPTN even though they had been accepted from this route.
- Study the track record of alumni
Map out which PTNs accept graduates from your school. This will help you see the level of competition and also the percentage of graduates who can enter the campus.
- Find info about the last quota,
Don't forget to look for information about the capacity of study programs at your chosen PTN. Also study the number of applicants for this study program in the previous year so that you have an idea of the level of competition and the possibility of acceptance later.
