Creating Young Entrepreneurs, Kemenpora and UPNVJ Hold Youth Entrepreneurship Lecture 2019

HumasUPNVJ - Within the framework of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) efforts to create youth with character, competitiveness, independence and an entrepreneurial spirit. Kemenpora is collaborating with 22 universities across Jabotabek in the field of youth development, by holding the 2019 Youth Entrepreneurship Lecture.

UPN Veteran Jakarta is the campus chosen to establish this collaboration. With a total of 200 participants including student representatives from 7 faculties available at UPN Veteran Jakarta. The activity was held at the UPN Veteran Jakarta Unity in Diversity Auditorium, on Monday (26/08/19).

Erna Hernawati, Chancellor of UPN Veterans Jakarta, Deputy for Youth Development of the Ministry of Youth and Sport Asrorun Niam Sholeh, representatives of PT Astra International Tbk., Dr. William Wiguna (Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Writers & Inspirators), representative of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Assistant Deputy for Youth Entrepreneurship, Drs. Imam Gunawan, MAP, and Sandika Communication Consultant Speack.Project. Entrepreneurial practitioners are here to provide direction or as a place to consult students in entrepreneurship courses.

The event, which started at 09.00 WIB, began with a video showing the work of UPNVJ students showing various creative efforts being carried out by several students which will later be developed again in terms of marketing.

KEMENPORA_(2).JPG UPNVJ Chancellor Erna Hernawati expressed her gratitude to Kemenpora for being present at UPNVJ and making UPNVJ one of the selected PTNs to develop its young entrepreneurial spirit.

"Thank you for coming to UPNVJ as the 21st series. Hopefully the training provided can encourage student motivation to start entrepreneurship, because from now on students can start their businesses without waiting to graduate, so that when they graduate, children will no longer be looking for work but recruiting workforce ,” said the Chancellor while delivering his remarks.

"Another development by students is that several students in the video that we saw together earlier have made products that are currently in the marketing process, not only that students are also required to take part in product exhibitions (product exhibitions) especially the Faculty of Economics and Business so that they are able to apply business knowledge in the real world. This should be utilized by all faculties so that we can all create young entrepreneurs, " said the Chancellor. KEMENPORA_(3).JPG

In addition to the Chancellor of UPNVJ, Deputy for Youth Development of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Asrorun Niam Sholeh also said "Earlier it was described with the appearance of the first video that there are works by faculty children at UPNVJ with creativity, with creativity and we live in the digitalization era where everything is very easy, we just have to tap into the potential that we have because in essence we all have that potential. We are created with our own uniqueness and individual potential because no human being is without potential. Nothing is perfect and today is our opportunity to look for potential with the opportunities that exist today, " said Deputy Youth Development Kemenpora.

He also emphasized " Entrepreneurship is the application of creativity and innovation to solve and seek opportunities from the problems faced by everyone. Our nature is to change, if we don't want to change then we will be left behind with change, " he concluded.

The Kemenpora youth entrepreneurship activity consists of four stages with a selection method at each stage. Phase one was held in 22 tertiary institutions in the Greater Jakarta area. Phases two to four will be held at the Kemenpora Building, Jakarta.

The 12 best entrepreneurs will be selected as nominees to receive access to capital and follow the next stage which will be held in September-October 2019.

The Youth Entrepreneurship Lecture is Kemenpora's initiative to accelerate the process of accelerating the growth of youth entrepreneurial interest by collaborating with universities and business people.
