Collaborating with the German Embassy, UPNVJ Performs the Grand Launching of the German Center

HumasUPNVJ - Taking place at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium (Wednesday 03/11/2021), UPN Veteran Jakarta inaugurated another study center which is expected to make many contributions to all academics, namely the German Center . The Study Center initiated by Dr. Bambang Susanto MA was established with the aim of being a science and technology development partner and opportunities for cooperation to educate the nation's life and advance public welfare in accordance with the 1945 Constitution.

This event was attended by UPNVJ Chancellor Dr.Erna Hernawati, Dr. ing. Ilham Habibie ( Chairman of The Habibie Center and Chairman of the Research Board of the Indonesian Chamber of Commers and Industry ). Dr. Stefani Jurgen ( Head of Science and Technology Division, Federal Republic of Germany ), Dr. Stefan Dreyer ( Director Goethe Institute ), and representatives from Indonesian German Alumni in Indonesia and Indonesian diaspora in Germany (IASI, AIPSE, PAJ, GEN and JARI). The event took place with strict health protocols according to the Covid-19 pandemic guidelines

In her remarks, Erna expressed her hopes regarding the establishment of the German Center so that it would be beneficial for the UPNVJ academic community, "I hope that through the UPNVJ German Center , we will be able to achieve several opportunities. First, the opportunity to strengthen scientific and academic collaboration between UPNVJ and various universities in Germany. Second, I hope that this opportunity will be able to accommodate and further enhance the current impact that has been created by German alumni and the Indonesian diaspora in Germany in their various fields and workplaces. Third, in connection with Indonesia being appointed as the host of the G20 Summit in 2022, I hope this activity can be useful in providing various inputs in joint-research activities with the Academic Community at UPNVJ," he said

Participating in his speech, Bambang expressed his gratitude to all parties who had participated in the establishment of this German Center . "On behalf of the German Center UPNVJ, I express my deepest gratitude and sincere appreciation to the UPNVJ Chancellor and Deputy Chancellor who have given their consideration, support and strong commitment to the establishment of the German Center at UPNVJ. Then the German Center expressed its highest appreciation to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany which has welcomed and supported the existence of this German Center which was conveyed directly by His Excellency the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany for Indonesia, ASEAN and Timor Leste based in Jakarta in a virtual meeting with the German Central UPNVJ on October 29," he said

Representing the German Embassy, Dr. Stefani Jurgens said that the development of science and technology is a priority in the cooperative relationship between Indonesia and Germany so that there are several programs that are possible to be implemented after the inauguration of the German Center. “In the future, cooperation programs with the German Embassy and German institutions in Indonesia may include various activities such as student exchanges, lecturers and administration, double degrees, joint research and publications with universities in Germany. Internship programs at the German Embassy and German institutions in Indonesia, visits and meetings with other relevant institutions and institutions in Germany” explained Dr. Stefani

Apart from offline, this event was also held via the online Zoom application and YouTube channel which was attended by no less than two hundred participants.
