HumasUPNVJ - Initial State Defense Education (Dikwal) / State Defense Training for three UPN Veterans Indonesia is a space to improve the UPN Veteran's corps spirit which contains the values of planting Widya Mwat Yasa. "Widya Mwat Yasa" (WIMAYA) is the identity of UPN Veteran which means learning to build.
Wimaya has a real meaning, namely studying knowledge that is used to serve as much as possible to the nation and state with a pure and clean heart.
In the learning process at UPN Veteran, the spirit of "Widya Mwat Yasa" is a value system that becomes a reference for UPN Veteran academics in their work.
The specific objectives of this Dikwal are to foster a sense of love for the motherland and awareness of the nation and state, instilling the values of Widya Mwat Yasa, growing the spirit of Indonesian UPN Veterans and of course to foster the values of defending the country.
This activity was held in November with three different locations including the Gunung Sari Marines Training Center in Surabaya (UPNV East Java) (1 – 5 November 2021) for five days (56 hours of lessons), the Rumpin Bogor Training Center (UPNV Jakarta) and the Air Force Academy (UPNV Yogyakarta). With a total of 239 participants consisting of 30 participants from UPNV Jogja, 170 participants from UPNV East Java and 39 participants from UPNV Jakarta.
On Tuesday, November 2 2021, the opening ceremony for Dikwal was held which was directly led by the Director General of Higher Education, Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc, Ph.D, ASEAN Eng accompanied by UPN Veteran Chancellors and their staff.
The activity continued with a briefing by the three Chancellors of UPN Veterans to all Dikwal participants.
In his remarks as the host of the first batch of Dikwal, the Chancellor of UPNV East Java entrusted his hopes to all Dikwal participants, "I hope that all of them can maintain their health, have their spirits up until the end of the activity. Because with this, God willing, we will improve our performance," hoped Prof. Dr. Ir Akhmad Fauzi
Then it was followed by an explanation from the Chancellor of UPN Veterans Jakarta, Dr. Erna Hernawati and Chancellor of UPN Veterans Jogja, Prof. Irhas Effendi then held a discussion session with Dikwal participants.
