Thus the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, UPN Veterans Jakarta, Dr. Dianwicaksih Arieftiara, SE. SE, Ak, M.Ak, CA, CSRS at a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday (02/12/2021).
This conference invited various speakers and speakers to discuss this transformation and the economics of sustainability based on empirical evidence, namely Prof. Robert Boyer discussing empirical evidence in France and Europe and America, Prof. Jayati Ghosh discussing what India is facing, Prof. Jomo Kwame Sundaram discussed the main economic challenges of the tropics, Prof. Olivier Favereau discussed governance issues, Prof. Oscar Ugarteche discussed sustainability issues from a Latin American perspective, Prof. Tulus Tambunan, Dr. Dianwicaksih Arieftiara, and Dr. Fadhil Hasan, discussed from an Indonesian perspective.
This international conference activity is the first to be held by UPNV Jakarta. This is in line with current economic and business trends, namely the importance of human development by humans in order to achieve sustainable development. This, of course, cannot be carried out alone but must cooperate with the government, industry, society and internationally.
UPNVJ puts a major focus on preparing the right skills, innovation and technology, to deal with given modern complexities. The faculty of economics and business at the heart of the university ensures the development of new approaches that keep up with current trends, and are expected to ultimately enrich existing explanations and raison pratiques (practical reasons) in areas such as big data, commerce, and business transformation .
Dianwicaksih said that her party deliberately invited economists from various countries to provide practical experience in dealing with a pandemic. By sharing this experience, it is hoped that it will become a forum for mutual learning, so that it can become input for the government in overcoming existing problems.
Regarding various policies in the economic sector during the Covid-19 Pandemic, Dianwicaksih said, actually the government had taken various good policies to deal with the situation during the pandemic, such as providing various kinds of incentives. In fact, he said, the APBN was designed in such a way as to deal with the pandemic problem.
"It's just that in practice this incentive policy is not effective, so it is not on target, such as PPh policies, MSMEs and so on. Maybe it's because of the data and lack of outreach," he explained.
He gave an example, channeling capital to MSMEs which are indeed affected by the pandemic, access to capital is often found. For this reason, his party also provides advocacy to various MSMEs, so that MSMEs are connected to access to capital so they can rise from economic difficulties during the pandemic.
Dianwicaksih the various efforts that have been made are good, but need to be further improved in the future, because in addition to resilience in the health sector, the government also needs to pay attention to incentives to maintain the economy, as well as pay attention to food issues, because food security is very important in a situation like this during a pandemic . "We see the government is trying to do food estate in the context of food security in various places," he said. (den)
