UPNVJ Public Relations — The publication of the book "Bela Negara" (National Defense) was a key highlight of the 26th anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Law, Veteran National Development University Jakarta (FH UPNVJ), on Friday (August 28, 2026). The publication of the book affirms FH UPNVJ's commitment to developing the values of National Defense through academic and legal perspectives. The commemoration also served as a moment to reflect on the various academic and student achievements, collaborations, and institutional development of FH UPNVJ throughout this year's anniversary series.

The Chief Executive of the 26th Anniversary of the Faculty of Law, UPNVJ, Abdul Kholiq, in his report said that the peak of the celebration was the end of a series of agendas that had been held for several months.

According to Abdul Kholiq, various academic and non-academic activities have been implemented involving students, lecturers, educational staff, alumni, and several partners of the UPNVJ Faculty of Law. These activities include student competitions, sports and community activities, seminars, and the 8th National Conference on Law Studies (NCOLS) 2026.

"Many agendas have been held in the UPNVJ FH Anniversary process up to today," said Abdul Kholiq in his report on the implementation of the activities.

One of the highlights of the commemoration was the publication of the National Defense Book. This academic work is part of the UPNVJ Faculty of Law's efforts to actualize the National Defense identity in the development of legal science.

For the Faculty of Law (FH) at UPNVJ, National Defense is not merely an institutional identity but also needs to be translated into education, research, scientific publications, and academic contributions to emerging legal issues in society. This approach aligns with the faculty's development direction, which integrates legal studies with the National Defense identity.

On the same occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Law at UPNVJ, Dr. Suherman, SH, LL.M., outlined several developments and achievements of the faculty. He expressed his appreciation to the entire academic community for their contributions to improving the Faculty's performance, both in academics, student affairs, research, publications, and expanding collaborative networks.

In recent years, the Faculty of Law (FH) of UPNVJ has witnessed several institutional developments. The Undergraduate Law Study Program received Excellent Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) in 2025 and previously received international accreditation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA). These achievements serve as a foundation for UPNVJ's Faculty of Law to continuously improve the quality of its education and expand its competitiveness at both the national and international levels.

Network strengthening efforts are also ongoing through collaborations with universities, government agencies, professional organizations, and various legal institutions. Throughout 2026, the Faculty of Law (FH) of UPNVJ will, among other things, develop academic and international collaborations and expand student access to legal learning and research based on the needs of the professional world.

UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., expressed his appreciation for the progress demonstrated by the Faculty of Law. He stated that these achievements demonstrate the improved performance and strategic position of UPNVJ's Faculty of Law among law faculties at state universities in Indonesia.

"I see that the UPNVJ Faculty of Law has performed very well," said Venus.

The Chancellor cited an example of external recognition for the UPNVJ Faculty of Law (FH) through its trust in collaborating with the Directorate General within the Ministry of Law. According to Venus, of the many state universities in Indonesia, UPNVJ Faculty of Law was one of five state universities to be involved in this collaboration.

This trust, he argued, should be used as capital to improve the institution's quality and expand the UPNVJ Faculty of Law's contribution to national legal development. The faculty's achievements should not be limited to awards or institutional recognition; they must provide tangible benefits to students, the community, and legal stakeholders.

The publication of the National Defense Book, which coincides with the 26th anniversary of the university's founding, is also considered relevant to UPNVJ's character as a National Defense Campus. Through a legal scientific approach, the values of National Defense can be continuously developed into academic ideas, studies, and references that address societal changes and contemporary legal challenges.

For the Rector, the 26-year journey of the UPNVJ Faculty of Law serves as a stepping stone to further progress. It is hoped that improvements in academic quality, scientific productivity, expansion of strategic collaborations, and strengthening of the National Defense identity will continue to go hand in hand, ensuring the UPNVJ Faculty of Law's competitiveness and its ability to make a tangible contribution to the development of legal education and the development of Indonesian law.
