Giant Ondel-Ondel, Doorstops and Traditional Betawi Food Enliven the Opening Ceremony of PMM Batch 4 UPNVJ

Public Relations UPNVJ – Designed to be as festive as possible, the Opening Ceremony of the Independent Student Exchange program Batch 4 of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (PMM 4 UPNVJ) was welcomed with various fanfare typical of the Betawi tribe. Slightly different from previous years, this time UPNVJ prepared various festivities at the event to welcome 48 PMM 4 students, starting from a carnival procession using Door Crosses, Giant Ondel-Ondel, Betawi Cutin Pengalungan for student representatives to the provision of various kinds Betawi specialties such as kerak telor, laksa, dodol and wajik.

One of the PMM 4 representatives from Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh, Zainul Muttaqin Damanik said that the PMM 4 welcome at the UPNVJ Campus was very impressive, "I am happy with this welcome, there are lots of typical Jakarta city festivities that are introduced starting from Palang Pintu to traditional specialties. which has a very unique taste," concluded Zainul in his interview with UPNVJ public relations.

Apart from the soft opening with Palang Pintu, the official PMM 4 UPNVJ Opening Ceremony event was also held at the UPNVJ Main Auditorium, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika on the same day, Monday 19 February 2024.

Final Total of PMM Active Students: 48 students, coming from 29 universities throughout Indonesia, explained Satria Yudhia as Chief Executive of PMM UPNVJ

"In addition to welcoming PMM 4, we also welcomed the arrival of 14 international students from Kazakhstan and Pahang Malaysia who were supervised by the UPNVJ International Affairs Office," added Satria in his report.

This festive event was also attended directly by the Chancellor of UPNVJ, Deputy Chancellor, Deans, Head of Bureau, Head of KUI and representatives of active UPNVJ students including BEM U, MPM U, and UKM.
