FK UPNVJ Holds FGD with Strategic Partners for the Opening of Biology Study Program

 

HumasUPNVJ – In order to open the Biology Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (FK UPNVJ), a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and Sharing Session were held on Friday, May 19, 2025.

The activity took place in a hybrid manner via Zoom Meeting and offline in the Dean's Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Wahidin Soedirohusodo Building, FK UPNVJ.

This event was attended by the ranks of the UPNVJ FK Dean, prospective lecturers, and the Biology Study Program Establishment Team.

Dean of FK UPNVJ, Dr. dr. Taufiq Fredrik Pasiak, M.Kes., M.Pd.I., MH, opened the event by emphasizing the urgency of the presence of the Biology Study Program as a contribution to the development of life sciences and public health.

"The involvement of professional associations and industry is very important in forming an adaptive and relevant curriculum," said Dr. Taufiq.

The FGD took place dynamically, presenting three main speakers:
* Dr. Indra Wibowo, M.Sc. (Indonesian Biology Consortium – KOBI),
* Falasifah, M.Sc. (PT Albitech),
* Lulu Agustiana, SP, M.Si. (Directorate of Species and Genetic Biodiversity Conservation, Ministry of Environment and Forestry).

The speakers provided strategic insights regarding the direction of study program development, the relationship between the curriculum and industry needs, as well as the challenges and opportunities in preserving national biodiversity.

The discussion was moderated by Desi Purwaningsih, S.Pd., M.Si., as the Head of the Biology Study Program Establishment Team, who guided the dialogue around research, cross-sector collaboration, and future career prospects for graduates.

Through this FGD, it is hoped that the Biology Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine, UPNVJ can be built on a solid academic foundation, relevant to current needs, and receive broad support from all stakeholders.
