Ria Maria Theresa, Sp.KJ, MH, along with the Student Affairs staff, held an open dialogue with students from various Student Activity Units (UKM) and Representatives of the Student Executive Board (BEM) on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. This activity took place in a relaxed atmosphere at Beska Bean, a coffee shop located in the UPNVJ Business Hub area.
In the dialogue, Prof. Venus conveyed a number of strategic points related to the direction of campus policy in supporting the development of student activities. One of the main issues conveyed was the clarity regarding the relaxation funds that are now available and ready to be used.
"The relaxation fund is available and secure. This means that if there is a program from fellow students, it can be executed immediately. In fact, the funds have been allocated for the next six months," said Prof. Venus.
The Chancellor also emphasized the importance of a pre-performance approach, especially for UKMs that focus on achievements at the national and international levels. He encouraged each UKM to have an annual agenda, either in the form of a competition or training outside the context of the competition.
"I want achievement-oriented SMEs to have an annual agenda. Not only competitions, we also accommodate training," he added.
Furthermore, Prof. Venus conveyed the integration plan between the achievement pathway in accepting new students with active participation in relevant UKM, according to each area of excellence.
"UKM is not just a place for training, but a place to achieve achievements," he stressed.
Regarding facilities, the Chancellor stated UPNVJ's commitment to providing adequate and international standard facilities to support student activities.
"We continue to strengthen the facilities. We really need data from students to find out areas that need to be improved. Good facilities for students are our priority," said Prof. Venus.
In the session, the Chancellor also shared some good news, such as the acceleration of the construction of the Student Activities Building (GKKM) and the plan to utilize 30 hectares of land in Tanjung Sari, Jonggol, for the development of future campus facilities.
In addition, the construction and renovation of academic facilities are also a concern, including the renovation of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) building, the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIK), as well as the construction of new coverings for the convenience of the teaching and learning process.
Regarding the administrative process, Prof. Venus reminded the importance of discipline in submitting achievement funds so that there are no delays in disbursement.
"Student achievement is our shared pride. But for the administration process to run smoothly, the submission must be on time," he said.
On the other hand, student representatives expressed their hope that the various plans that have been submitted can truly accommodate aspirations and real needs in the field. They also encouraged student involvement in the planning and implementation process of campus programs.
This dialogue is a strategic and productive space to align the vision between university leaders and students in building an inclusive, superior, and visionary student atmosphere.
