UPNVJ Encourages Quranic Generation Through SEMA 2025 Achievement Path

HumasUPNVJ – In order to recruit prospective outstanding students with a strong religious background, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) is again holding the Al-Qur'an Hafidz Skills Test as part of the 2025 Achievement Pathway Independent Selection (SEMA).

This activity took place on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Manbaul Ulum Mosque, UPNVJ Campus, and was attended by eight participants who had previously passed the administrative selection. This test aims to provide added value for participants in the SEMA selection process, especially those who have the ability to memorize the Quran.

Participants are tested on various aspects, such as memorization, accuracy of reading according to the rules of tajwid, fashahah, and rhythm/song. The assessment process is carried out by three competent judges in the field of Al-Qur'an science, namely:
• Suprima, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I
• Dr. Hasan Basri, S.Sy., M.Pd.I
• Sayuti Hamdani, S.Pd.I., MA

UPNVJ New Student Admissions Coordinator, Fajar Nugroho, expressed his hope that this activity would run well and become a forum for prospective students who have excellence in the religious field.

"Hopefully this activity will run smoothly. The Al-Qur'an Hafidz Exam is a form of UPNVJ's appreciation for religious achievements and is an important added value in the SEMA selection process," said Fajar.

He also added that the results of the skills test will be officially announced on Thursday, July 4, 2025 at 15.00 WIB.

One of the participants, Zaki Mubarak, from East Jakarta, shared his experience in taking the Al-Qur'an Hafidz skills test. He chose the Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Study Programs as his dream study programs.

"I have prepared myself by routinely memorizing the Quran before the exam. I was a little nervous when appearing in front of the judges, but I still tried my best to be accepted in the study program I wanted," said Zaki.

He also added that UPNVJ is the campus he has always dreamed of because of its good reputation and study programs that are relevant to his interests.
