Public Relations of UPNVJ - Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) held the Inauguration and Oath-Taking of Prospective Civil Servants (CPNS) to become Civil Servants (PNS) for the 2023 Fiscal Year formation. The event took place solemnly at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium of UPNVJ on Monday, June 23, 2025, led directly by the Chancellor of UPNVJ, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm.
A total of 79 CPNS were officially inaugurated as PNS after completing the trial period and basic training (latsar) according to the provisions of personnel development in the ASN system. This momentum marks an important status shift in the career journey of employees, as well as the beginning of a new commitment in carrying out public service duties.
In her speech, Prof. Venus congratulated and appreciated all employees who had passed the selection and coaching stages. She emphasized that being a civil servant is not just about status, but a moral and professional responsibility to serve wholeheartedly.
"Becoming a civil servant is not just about status, but a commitment to serve wholeheartedly, based on the values of defending the country—UPNVJ's distinctive character as a national defense campus," he said.
Prof. Venus also emphasized the importance of the role of lecturers in encouraging the achievement of UPNVJ's vision as a Superior University, with a National Defense Character, and Global Competitiveness. Lecturers, he continued, are expected to continue to improve their competence, uphold academic ethics, and become agents of change amidst the flow of digital transformation and globalization of education.
The oath-taking procession took place solemnly, witnessed by clergy from various religions, and attended by the ranks of university leaders, deans and vice deans, and other structural and functional officials. All inauguration participants also signed the minutes of the oath/promise as a form of legal and moral responsibility for their employee status.
The event was closed with a group photo session and congratulatory speeches from the leaders of UPNVJ. The new civil servants are expected to continue to actively contribute to improving the quality of higher education and public services, in line with UPNVJ's commitment as a leading university with global competitiveness.
